Lilac's P.O.V.: (9:03 A.M.)
It was, well, amaZAYN that I managed to figure out how to solve that problem. The vision I received was virtually useless: a smiling Ian Stewart and money. Sometimes those visions gave me every single detail, but this one wasn't worth crap. I was literally struggling to get a deal out of that man. Jill had to hold me back a few times. Playing the blind card didn't help much either.
"Do you think I care if you're blind or not? I want a deal. Money. I don't pity anyone."
Jeez, that guy was mean. I would have to see him tomorrow morning for the mini concert, too. But what mattered was that I found a solution and that I didn't need to use other means.
The soft rumble of the cab stopping jolted me awake. Sometimes, I could just lay in the soft cocoon of darkness that was always there for me, waiting. Days on end I spent my days at the orphanage sitting in bed, eyes closed, earplugs on, and the world left me. The feeling was glorious, like I could be away from the world forever. But I forgot to put on my earplugs in the cab, so everything rushed back to me.
The soft jazz and the slow breathing of our cab driver. The loud clicks of a phone vibrating as text was being typed. The sleeping mumbles next to me. I urged my ears to listen further. The beeping of cars and ringing. Yells of helpful men and small wheels rolling. We were back at the hotel.
"Excuse me, we're at your destination," the old driver announced. His voice was kind and homely and enveloped my ears. It reminded me of Caleb trying to wake me up in the morning.
"How much?" I heard Zayn ask from across the cab.
"That'll be fifteen pounds." I heard something slide out and a swipe. A credit card.
"Thank you! Have a good morning!" I waved goodbye and was carried up by Jill. I wrapped my arms around her neck and slipped on some earplugs. I heard the sound of a phone ring.
"Hello? Yeah, we're coming up now. Yes, I have a card." A masculine voice over the phone. I pulled out one earplug and the conversation flowed easily.
"-are over at our place. All the boys are playing video games with each other. The girls went out to shop over at the mall and are coming back in a few hours," Liam reported. My heart seized with fear. Were they going to get injured? Was my vision coming true? "Hold on." Liam pulled the phone away and began speaking to someone else. "Louis says that Paul met up with them a few minutes ago, just in case the paps catch them." I sighed in relief. "See you upstairs."
"Yup." Zayn ended the call and put his iPhone away. Zayn repeated to Jill his conversation. I tuned him out and listened in on other sounds. Girls were squealing, again. Would that never stop? I got enough of it from the past week. I tuned them out and pulled my own phone out. I listened to my voicemail as Jill started walking again.
"Three new messages," the feminine robotic voice said. "First unheard message-" Caleb's voice popped in with urgency. "-Hello? Lili, why aren't you picking up? Why haven't you called me? I told you to call me every day! Just-AH!" More screams and then groaning.
"Next unheard message-"
"-Um... Lili, I broke my ankle. I'm in a cab going back home. I got a cast. Just... call back and I'll explain everything."
"Next unheard message-"
"Do you not care about your own blood-related brother? It's been three days already. Cast is gonna be off in two weeks. I'm working at home and I can't pick you up on Sunday. Ask Harry to drop you off. If he can't, get a cab home. Miss you."
