Myth and love- DagurxOC (How To Train Your Dragon)

‘Legends have told of a serpent like dragon called the lindworm, with long wings and sharp talons on the tip a long thin tail they use to swims through long channels of water to the ocean. These monsters are rumoured to travel as far as the iciest waters of the world.’

Hiccup was reading an old book he found in his father's bookshelf, holding up one of the bookshelfs legs. It took him a while to pull it out and add in a wedge where the book once was. It was about “myths and monsters of the sea”. He was impressed by the title and put it in his satchel before getting on toothless and heading back to the edge. Before hiccup got to his hut, he was stopped by the twins.

“Hey hiccup what do you got in Your satchel?” said tuffnut.

“It's a an old book I found in my father's studies, it's about myths and monsters that lurk beneath the oceans. I thought maybe there's a good chance to locate a new water dragon that rarely appears on the surface.” hiccup exclaimed.

“Wow! Finally something actually exciting and fun!” said ruffnut.

That afternoon the whole gang was surrounding the book as if it was a new dragon they discovered. Hiccup picked up and opened the book. The first few pages were worned out, but the words could still be seen. It talked about dangerous waves and mysterious shipwrecks. There were stories of monsters with dozens of arms pulling ship underwater. And monster size eels able to squeeze viking ships into pieces. When they turned the next page, in bold red ink letters wrote out “THE LINDWORM”. Every one felt chills going up their arms.

“What is this?” asked fishlegs.  

What it reads…….

          ‘The Lindworm a serpent like dragon that resigns in the deepest darkest oceans. Dragon like face that can bring humans to their knees. Long winged arms with 3 long talon fingers for grabbing prey and dragging them to their watery graves. A long snake like tail with a large fin at the end, used to glide underneath the waters faster than any ship and ambushed without a warning. it rarely comes to the surface to nest, location unknown to humans.’

End……….

Everyone at the table gulped. “ so what do you think?” asked hiccup.

“It does sound like a dragon, but is it really one?” protested snotlout.

“Even if it was we couldn't be able to know where to look. the ocean is vasted and none of our dragons can swim that deep.” said Astrid.

“that's where everything starts getting interesting” hiccup pulled out a map from his satchel. He unfolded the map to reveal paths around crossed marked islands. “It looks like my father went on a wild goose chase and never found this creature nesting area.” He said in a serious voice.

“Why would your father go looking for this Lindworm in the first place? Fishlegs asked.

“I don't know, I didn't even tell him about the book.” he said.

It's started to dark so everyone just decided to sleep on it for tonight and recollect in the morning.
