-Rey's POV-

I'm shaken back to reality by a sudden sense of dread. My heart is pounding like a loud drum, calm down. I tell myself. I can feel my face burning.

What the hell was that all about... why was I so frozen... why was I so...

Suddenly the first order carrier lands in front of us and out steps Captain Phasma and some other storm trooper armed with blasters. They surround us quickly. Even aiming their weapons at Kylo. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, he did betray them. It's just strange to see him on my side of things.

"What an interesting turn of events," she speaks with almost a chuckle, "Kylo Ren, surrender your weapon at once." Captain Phasma speaks in her usually almost robotic/ monotonic voice. She has a spear in her hand.

Kylo glances at me from the corner of his eyes, and I see his jaw tighten, he then glances back at Phasma, "and what will you do if I don't?"

She actually lets out a chuckle this time, "I think you already know the consequences sir."

He looks back at me, trust me. I hear a faint voice in my head and it catches me off guard.

Kylo pulls back his cape to reveal the hilt his saber is nestled in, and I see a slight glimmer of another saber on his hip. MY saber. He pulls out his saber and throws it to Phasma who almost doesn't catch it probably due to the shock of him actually surrendering it.

The troopers are also shocked, lowering their weapon for a moment and it gives me the perfect opportunity to take back my saber. As soon as it ignites the troopers react and shoot at us. I block the bullets and step in front of Kylo to protect him before the troopers move in and soon I'm cutting them down.

-Kylo's POV-

"Kill them!" Phasma shouts. I reach out and use force pull to gain back my saber from her hands. It ignites and crackles in my grip. Troopers are closing in on Rey and I and we are standing back to back fighting them off.

"Glad you picked up on my intentions." I mumble to Rey as I cut down another trooper.

"You're lucky I protected you." She says back.

"Well you're lucky I brought your saber with me." It's now becoming almost a competition.

"Well you're lucky I'm skilled enough to wield it properly now."

"Oh," I smile slightly, "I wasn't worried about that." I settle the debate. I turn to face her and we are both breathing heavily in the midst of battle. It's almost as if I can hear her heart beating in my head. It's like we're connected somehow.

She turns to cut down another approaching trooper and block his blaster shots. I am stunned. At her strength. At her power. She turns back around and cuts down a trooper about to attack me. I can't take my eyes off her. She's even better than before. Her movements so graceful, like she's dancing on the battlefield. She turns back to face me,

"Are you ever going to fight back?" Her chest is heaving and her eyes are piercing. I feel myself swallow and my heart beat quicken. I ignite my saber not taking my eyes off her until I see a trooper approaching her from behind and I stand to protect her from him, even though she clearly doesn't need it.

Suddenly another carrier ship lands and more troopers rush out to fight us. How many men do they plan on sacrificing?

-Rey's POV-

Ren and I have cut down a countless number of troopers. It's strange... being on his side... or is he on my side...

I'm still not sure, it's all very confusing.
