Chapter 3

Future Rogue

Pure, red hot, rage is all he felt. He was following Lucy's scent and looked into an alley way where he found a guy with a perverted smile had her pinned to the wall. He was already beyond pissed. That turned into full on rage when he heard her start to gasp for air. This bastard is choking her?! He's dead now! He thought as he lunged forward and punched the guy in the cheek with a fist covered in shadows, making him drop Lucy to the ground. The man was effectively knocked out immediately, then Rogue went for his buddies. He didn't even have to use magic to knock them out.

What kept him from killing them was the sound of Lucy trying to catch her breath. He walked over to her and quickly picked her up and took her back to the room she had at the inn, as a shadow. When he went in the room under the door he quickly rematerialized and set Lucy on the bed. He silently prayed that one of her spirits sensed her pain and would pop out like they always did.

Luckily it was Virgo, but he didn't have time to transform into a shadow again so she saw him and asked, "Who are you?"

He sighed and said, "I am Rogue. But you can not tell her, if she asks, that it was me."

She eyed him up and down and remembered, "You are the future version of Rogue Cheney. The one who killed Princess's future self and also attempted to kill her."

He winced at the memory, a reflex not unnoticed by the maid spirit as she asked, "Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be back in your time?"

Rogue nodded and sighed, "Yeah I'm still confused about that too. I don't know why I'm still here."

He scratched his neck and blushed slightly before continuing, "I've, um, kinda been watching Lucy for a while now. Don't ask why because I don't have an answer for you."

Virgo rose an eyebrow at the blush but chose to ignore it and decided to just check on her master, "I am just going to check on her and put some ointment on her neck and wrists, they are already beginning to bruise. Will you watch over her until she wakes up once I'm done?"

With a reluctant nod from the white shadow dragon Virgo went back to get the ointment. When she came back she immediately got to spreading it on Lucy's wrists and neck. Once she was done she looked towards Rogue and bowed as she said, "Thank you for protecting our Princess when we could not."

Rogue just gave a stiff nod and watched as the pink haired maid spirit went back to the spirit world. He sighed and sat on the couch getting lost in thought. Why the hell did I help her? And why on Earth Land am I blushing so much? I just lost it when I saw what those assholes were doing to her.

Before his thoughts could continue he heard a small voice, "Hello Rogue."

His head snapped up and he saw a small girl with long silky bleach blonde hair, and a long white dress. He also took notice that she was barefooted and floating. He finally asked, "Do I know you?"

The girl giggled catching him off guard before she spoke, "No I am the founder and first master of the Fairy Tail guild."

His eyes widened before she continued, "I watch over all of my children. Only those who bare the guild's insignia are able to see me."

At that he questioned, "Then why can I see you? Im not a member of Fairy Tail."

He felt a tingling on his right bicep and looked over at it to see a light shining through his shirt. As he looked closer the light was in the shape of the Fairy Tail guild mark. His eyes widened and his head snapped to the first master. Before he could ask she said, "Do you ever wonder how you stayed in this time period."
