Lucy woke up first again. She showered and got ready before starting to cook breakfast.
The smell woke Rogue and he dragged himself into the kitchen. He plopped into his chair and waited patiently for his breakfast. Lucy put a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast in front of him and he quickly dug in.
They finished breakfast and headed to the train station after Rogue got dressed. He was not happy about having to be on a train. He was already feeling queazy. Lucy went to buy the tickets and joined the white shadow dragon slayer in standing to wait for the train.
She noticed the green tint of his face and smirked, "Is the big strong dragon slayer afraid of a train?"
He crossed his arms and scowled as he said, "Of course not."
Just then the train pulled up and his face turned even more green while his cheeks puffed out. Seeing this, his blonde partner said, "Sure keep tellin yourself that."
When the doors opened and she stepped on first while Rogue hesitantly got on. They found a private booth and opened the door to it before climbing in. Rogue was about to sit across from Lucy when she all of a sudden yanked him over to her side and sat him down next to her. When the train started moving his face turned completely green, but before he could slump on the table Lucy grabbed his head and placed it, facing the ceiling, in her lap and stroked her fingers through his hair.
He blushed deeply but noticed that his motion sickness was bearable and her running her fingers through his hair was making him tired. Holy shit. Are her fingers magic or something? He thought with a shocked expression on his face. Lucy smiled down at him and asked, "Feeling better?"
Still shocked, he said, "Actually yeah."
Her smile widened and she said, "See? I told you. It works for all the dragon slayers. I don't know why it does but..." She trailed off shrugging.
He nodded and continued to fall asleep. He could get used to this. She smelled like strawberry and vanilla. It was very calming and made him even more tired. Soon the land of dreams took him.
Lucy absentmindedly stroked his hair as she stared out the window. Her eyelids began to feel heavy and she too, fell asleep.
Time Skip
Rogue woke up to the train intercom saying they had arrived at their destination. He opened his eyes and saw Lucy with her head laying back on the seat with her mouth open and a little drool coming out. He chuckled at this.
Once the train came to a complete stop, he sat up from the blonde's lap and shook her awake. She opened her eyes and looked at Rogue, then around them before asking, "Are we in Oak Town?"
He just nodded and proceeded to open the door to the booth as Lucy stretched and stood up to follow him.
They stepped off the train and looked around. Lucy touched Horologium's key and heard him say that it was about 3 o'clock. They decided they would go to the Mayor's house and get the details on the dark guild and then go searching for it. They weren't staying at a hotel because it was an over night scouting mission so they would camp outside.
The walk to the Mayor's house wasn't long. They came upon a white mansion with marble columns along the entire front surrounded by a large fence. When they approached the gate Lucy pressed the intercom button. A woman with a sweet voice spoke, "State your business please?"
Lucy answered, "Um, we are the mages from Fairy Tail responding to the request the Mayor made."
The woman said back, "Of course. Come right in."
