What If...

Chapter 8

A/N: Sorry this took so long to update I was bogged down with college homework and such. But with how long it took to update I had time to think about what to write sooo...here it is!!

Lucy was at the guild drinking her strawberry milkshake when she felt an extremely warm arm wrap around her shoulders. She instantly knew who it was and said, "Hey Natsu! Where have you been you weren't at the guild yesterday?"

The fire dragon gave her a toothy grin and said, "Well, me and happy decided to go on a fishing trip since you went on a solo mission and there was nothing else to do. By the way how did it go?"

Lucy smiled at her pink haired best friend and exclaimed proudly, "It went great! Finished it in one night! I had two new keys and they were a huge help so it was over pretty fast."

Natsu nodded, "Awesome! So do you wanna go on a mission later?"

The blonde smiled brightly and said, "Totally! I got another new key that I want to try out that's super powerful so a job sounds like a great idea."

The fire dragon slayer grinned widely and grabbed the blonde's arm, pulling her over to the job board. As they were looking for a job they heard a firm female voice from behind them, making both mages jump, "Are you about to go on a mission? If so we should accompany you."

It wasn't a suggestion, more of a statement that neither mage could deny the red head. Natsu wasn't too keen on the fact that Gray was coming along but Erza shut him up with a knock to the head. The three still conscious mages, plus exceed, agreed to meet tomorrow at the train station at 8 am. Happy picked Natsu up and took him home to wait for him to wake up so they could pack later. Gray and Erza also left to pack, but the celestial mage decided to stay for a little longer.

Lucy looked around the guild, she felt like she was forgetting something, but she couldn't figure out what. As her eyes scanned the guild hall they landed on a blunette reading a book with an iron dragon slayer sitting next to her eating iron. She suddenly gasped and ran out of the guild, gaining some strange looks.

She bursted through her apartment door, not noticing or just not caring, about the confused white shadow dragon slayer that just rematerialized in her kitchen. He watched her run over to her desk and asked, "What are you looking for?"

The blonde didn't even look up and just answered, "I finished my book and I promised I'd give it to Levy so she could read it."

Rogue nodded in understanding as he asked, "Are you going to give her the book at the guild and come back here to pack?"

The blonde stopped halfway to the door and thought, before she nodded and said, "Yeah, why?"

Rogue laid down on the couch and put his arms behind his head and said, "Then I'm gonna stay here."

The blonde nodded and rushed back to the guild. She entered the doors and caught her breath before walking over to the solid script mage with a wide smile.

Gajeel stopped chewing his iron for a moment as he caught Lucy's scent approaching. He looked up and saw the blonde walking over to his and Levy's table. He sniffed the air slightly and caught the same scent on her as he did yesterday. She didn't smell like vanilla, strawberries, and the scent of the idiot fire dragon. She smelled like vanilla, strawberries, dark chocolate, and spearmint.

The blonde approached the two mages and announced, "Hey Levy! Guess what I brought?~"

The brunette looked up from her book and eyed the blonde. She noticed the excited smile and how her hands were hidden behind her back, seeming like they were holding something. The book worm thought of what it could be. She suddenly gasped and clapped her hands together with stars in her eyes and asked hopefully, "Is it the next chapter of your book?!"
