Zane's POV
Some time later in the night I was pulled from my cell by the officers. I was conscious, but couldn't move after they attached a restraining bolt to my chest.
My dinged-up titanium plating scraped against the metal of the prison floor as the guards dragged me to an unknown place.
After some time and a few sharp left turns, we got to what looked like the medical bay on the bounty. But it seemed more...  ominous. It even  seemed more robotic. The officers forced me to a table, where they strapped my hands and feet to the table.
A couple masked officers walked over to the table, carrying sharp utensils.
The taller one (officer 2) tenderly but abusively, opened the panel on my chest. He swiftly but surely flicked of my senses. Soon enough I was without sight, sound, or voice.
Then suddenly, pain courses through me. My senses are returned through the sudden wave of sensation. The pain is sharp for a few seconds, then dies out as suddenly as it began.
The officer glares at me coldly for a few seconds, then starts prodding my chest. I can feel his gloved fingers tracing wires that lead to my power source, my heart. His finger follows the wire to the capsule where my heart is kept, then stops. Out of the corner of my eye I can see the officer's picked up something sharp. Without warning, he opens my heart capsule and prods it, sending an unexpected wave of electricity through me. I grit my teeth in pain as he stabbed me in the tender spots. I thought the pain before was intense, but it was nothing compared to this. The pain was almost unbearable.
Stop complaining, Zane. My inner conscience told me. You defeated the overlord. This is nothing compared to that.
But that was wrong. This was all that pain and more. Without warning or hesitation, something inside of me must have snapped. The torture had been enough. I tossed my head back and let loose a scream that would make Jay proud.
The officer stopped his work and looked me in the eye as I struggled to regain my breath. Then he walked over to his companion and discussed test results or something. The other officers closed my heart capsule and my chest plate. As they took me off the table, I couldn't move. The restraining bolt had been removed, I could move freely if I had the strength. But I didn't. Pain still courses through me as the officers led me away to my cell.
Once we got back, the officers once again threw me inside. But this time, one of them followed. He grabbed a cord which extended from the wall and jammed it into the place Pixal's drive used to be. At least I didn't feel empty anymore.
I faintly picked up that the cord was tracking my diagnostics, but I drifted of into dreamless sleep before I could figure out anything else.
