Pixal's POV-
I rushed through the Digiverse, glancing from screen to screen, trying to escape the virus. There- there he was.
"Zane!" I shouted.Zane's POV-
I heard my name called out of the blue. I turned, and saw a flickering holographic image of Pixal.
"Pixal." I whispered, than ran up to her.
I hugged her, well as much as one can hug a hologram.
Pixal sighed wistfully, but smiled at me.
"Where is your neural drive?" I asked her. "We need to get you out."
Pixal sighed again, and her image flickered. "Zane, this system is corrupted. My neural drive can't be saved... and neither can I."
My eyes widened as I realized the horrible truth. "No! Pixal! No!" I shouted, desperately trying to embrace her holographic form. "Don't leave me! Whatever you want, I'll do it! Just don't leave me!" Tears were running down my face.
"My time has come." Pixal said. She, too was crying. Crying virtual tears that dissipated as soon as they ran of her face.
"Pixal..." I whispered, clinging to her like a child lost in a storm.
Pixal placed her hand on my head. "Goodbye, my love." She whispered before fading.
Pixal... the one person I loved more than anyone else. Her voice sounded like snow, her laughter like music. I... don't know if I can go on... without her...
