Shownu's Dream Girl (Monsta X fanfic)

chapter 4

*Shownu's POV of the same scene*

Shownu got back to the dorm with the rest of the guys and felt drained. He felt tired but in a happy proud way that a parent must feel when making their children happy. He truly felt like a father would today, that's at least how he imagined a parent to feel like. He could hear IM telling Jooheon how envious he was of the attention he was getting from the kids and how hard he had to try to even get an ounce of that affection. "It wasn't easy for me either Changkyun, but at least we all learnt how to capture a child's heart" said Shownu encouragingly. It came to him naturally to console and praise the others as a leader.

"You captured someone's else's heart today too it seems" suggested Wonho slyly making it obvious who he was talking about. The other guys burst out laughing, seeming to be immature when they were tired.

Shownu knew this was coming, " Come on guys, you know it's not like that. I want to be her friend" he said casually trying to cover up any sort of emotion that might peek through.Kihyun gave another snort of laughter and mimicked Shownu singing "I can be your hero, I can be your man' you said you could be her man, that doesn't seem friendly right Hyungwon?" He asked clasping his hand on the taller boys shoulder. Thankfully Hyungwon was sitting down otherwise he would have struggled and embarrassed himself trying to put his arm around Hyungwon.

Hyungwon replied "yeah yeah" uninterested as he was too tired and was already dozing off on the sofa leaning his head of Wonho's shoulder comfortably. Minhyuk popped up, still enthusiastic even late at night. He was holding Shownu's phone suggestively and said "we should message her the details about tomorrow now so she has time to prepare" and without waiting for anyone to reply, he started typing already reading his message out loud while he was typing.

*Hey! This is Monsta x's invite to an intimate evening with family and friends. Dinner commences at 6pm and we will host a little show for our fans at 9pm. Curfew is at 11pm since us boys need to rest for training the next day. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow :) *

Every one was nodding their heads and IM quickly jumped up and grabbed the phone to type something and said "sent!" outloud sounding satisfied before handing the phone back to Minhyuk. "Umm..." said Minhyuk sounding a bit unsure, "may be you should read the rest Shownu" and shyly handed the phone to him. Shownu grabbed the phone and skimmed through the message to see what was out of the norm and he felt his temper raise slightly when he saw IM's extra message; * P.s. special hi from Shownu ;) * 

He put a cap on his anger, IM was the youngest and still immature. It was only humorous to him and the others, so he didn't give a reaction and typed another message to forward.

*Sorry about that, it's Shownu. IM thinks he's funny but we'll see you tomorrow x*

He was unsure whether he should put a kiss at the end or not, otherwise it would only prove to the guys what they believed already. 'Who am I kidding?' Shownu thought 'Everyone already knows I like her, I made it obvious at the day care centre.' Shownu was thinking about whether she would reply or not, when he heard Minhyuk shout out goodnight with Wonho in tow, trying to wake up and half drag Hyungwon to their beds. IM followed them after giving Shownu a cheeky smile and Kihyun just snorted amused while walking past but told Shownu "to win the girl over tomorrow, not that we'll make it easy for you" he added laughing and said goodnight too. 

Shownu and Jooheon were left, Jooheon looked ready to sleep so Shownu nudged him awake and they went to their shared rooms. Shownu went to the bathroom first to have a quick shower and brush his teeth. By the time he got out, he assumed Jooheon might be sleeping already but he was sitting on his bed with Shownu's phone in his hand and handed it to him, saying "your girl replied" then randomly started doing some aegyo making Shownu whack him lightly on the arm jokingly. He felt a little nervous, he wasn't used to the foreign emotion so it was a little startling. He took the phone from Jooheon and read the message: 

 

* Hi, it's Mya :) Thanks for the invite, I'm very grateful. I'll be there tomorrow :) *

He could imagine her sweet voice reading the message in his head and her beautiful full mouthed smile. He felt a little disappointed since she only sent smiles and no kisses but they just met. He'd stay positive, he had a good weird feeling about her and he could hear his mum's voice in his head telling him to settle down since he was 25 already and successful in the music industry. Bless his mum, he loved her a lot and wanted to make her proud. He knew he had already but one day he'd give her a family and a grandchild too, may be sooner than later. He knew he didn't have to reply but felt inclined too, he wanted to continue talking to her even though he was tired. He knew Mya must have been tired too, especially looking after little Kangwoo. She seemed to be a big family person which attracted him to her even more. He wanted her to know that he was happy they met and typed up a short message, he wasn't afraid of rejection because he was confident, even if he was modest at the same time.

* Sounds good :) Glad we met today, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

He decided to add another kiss at the end of the message, he would persist and not be scared away. He liked a girl after a long time of focussing on his career and Monsta x so he'd give it his all. Jooheon came out of the bathroom and popped up behind him reading the messages outloud. "Ay, you should say we all said goodnight too" he whined jokingly and grabbed the phone from Shownu and typed up a short goodnight message and sent it handing it back to Shownu. He saw what Jooheon had typed and laughed, seemed like everyone wanted to be her friend.

Shownu and Jooheon spoke a little more about general stuff before getting into bed all comfy and were just about to doze off when he heard his phone buzz again. He didn't expect a reply and picked up the phone to check what his dream girl had written.

He felt a smile tug on his lips, she said goodnight to everyone and singled him out, adding kisses at the end. Guess persisting a little did pay off, with that he fell asleep with a smile on his face.
