If you haven't already read the side chapter I added with Inuyasha & Kagome, then you'll either want to read it or just keep in mind that that addition was meant to occur right after Sesshomaru went back to the modern era to get Corrine back around chapters 31-32

Right after the battle with Kageromaru/Joromaru Sesshomaru had sent Jaken to finish his mission to get the midwife so she could still help me once we were home. Three babies certainly weren't going to be easy, and being a Lord I wasn't going to have Sesshomaru 24/7 to help me. They immediately came to the wolf demon's cave so the midwife could check on mine and the babies state. With Yuki having been here the whole time, she quickly made her way with Rin and Jaken back to our home to make sure things were prepared as soon as the babies arrived which apparently wasn't going to be immediate.

After much arguing with Sesshomaru, Yuki and the new midwife-Kalha-had agreed that newborns shouldn't be traveling through the wilderness immediately to ensure they didn't catch anything.

We were now down to the last few hours of the week stay in the Wolf Demon den. Sesshomaru was already antsy to get out of there, so I couldn't help but sweatdrop and eye him nervously when I noticed a familiar scent come into the cavern.

I imagined Sesshomaru noticed as well and he shifted forward to stand from where he had been sitting against the stone wall.

"If you wake him up-" I warned Sesshomaru, hoping that would be enough to keep him in place and calm. Alucard was the fussiest of them all if you didn't let him just wake up of his own accord.

His shoulders were still visibly tight, but Sesshomaru did stop, taking a glance down at his son then sank back to his original position against the wall.

Right on cue, Kagome peeked her head around the wall-I assumed to make sure I wasn't feeding-then came around and entered with Inuyasha slowly following behind her. Kagome's eyes lit up and it looked like she was holding herself back from just running over and picking up one of the babies to hold herself. Inuyasha on the other hand stayed back at the other side of the room awkwardly looking anywhere but us. I would too if I was getting the stare down Sesshomaru was giving him right now.  Kagome and I just ignored those two and gave each other a warm smile and 'good morning', then I patted the ground next to me for her to take a seat.

"Koga found me to tell me that you had delivered and everything went ok. I hope you don't mind us being here." Kagome said nervously, glancing over my shoulder to Sesshomaru behind me. I followed her gaze and caught Sesshomaru still scowling at Inuyasha. He felt my gaze and his expression softened just enough when he looked at me, then he reverted his eyes to the baby to keep his attention off Inuyasha.

"It's ok. After everything that's happened, I'd say it's only expected you'd want to meet them." I gave her a reassuring smile, "would you like to-" I held my arm up holding Yuki and gestured for her to hold her.

"Oh, of course!" Kagome seemed a little more than enthusiastic as I gently laid her in her arms.

"This is Yuki."  I then picked up Ume now that my hands were free again. Once I had her situated in my arms I looked back to Kagome. "and this is Ume" I tried to introduce the baby I had just picked up, but Kagome didn't look like she had heard me. She was watching Yuki in her arms, but her expression looked a bit lost in thought-eyes slightly wide and her cheeks a little flushed.

For the first time since they arrived, Inuyasha was now looking at something other than the wall. He was standing just behind, his eyes transfixed on Kagome as he watched her holding the baby. Yuki shifted in Kagome's arms and her eyes started to flutter and her tiny features scrunched up. Inuyasha gulped and his eyes got a little wide assuming the worst and getting ready for her to cry. But she just let out a little yawn, then turned so her head was cradled on Kagome's chest before falling back to sleep.
