I knew that I'd have a headache when I woke up but that still didn't prepare me for the pounding going on in my head. I could only hope that if I kept my eyes closed it wouldn't hurt as much; I lay there and waited to see if the pain would go away. I knew the most common side effects from chloroform were dizziness, nausea, and headaches so I tried to stay as still as possible. Surprisingly enough my first thought upon awakening wasn't why someone would do this to me, it was why on earth someone would use chloroform in this day and age. If I didn't know I was always this way I'd think that the chloroform had done some damage. For the love of all that was holy did my head hurt. I decided that I'd better open my eyes to check what trouble I was in now, popping open one eye I tried to scope things out.
Trees, trees, and more trees: surprise surprise I was in a wood. As a resigned sigh past my lips I realised that I'd have to make some kind of move; I opened both eyes and got my first proper look round. Seeing that I was right about the wood, I realised that I was flat on my back on what felt like a bunch of nettles. Moving carefully as not to shift my head too much I sat up and took stock. A quick look in all directions decided it that I was in the middle of nowhere: great, just great, more adventure. This day could not possible get worse, which was of course when it started raining. Before I could think better of it I hit myself in the head for thinking insane thoughts. Of course the moment my hand touched my head the pounding started up again in full force. Stupid, stupid woman, you had to do that now, right when the pain had become a dull ache.
A few minutes later once I could see again, I tried once more to sit up and look around. Of course now it was raining and so I couldn't really see that far, but I had to do something. Figuring that I really didn't want to stay in the middle of nowhere on my own, I slowly got to my feet using a nearby tree to brace myself. The moment I stood up right the dizziness and the nausea kicked in. Fighting to stay standing I at least had a better view now; though it really didn't help as all I could see was rain and trees. Preparing myself for what I was about to do because I knew it was going to hurt I took a deep breath and screamed for all I was worth.
"HHEELLPPP!!!"
After the ringing and the pounding quieten down in my head, I listen to see if anyone responded. Not hearing anything I knew that I was on my own. I knew that there was no other choice so I looked around and picked a direction, setting off as I tried to think what the hell had happened. I remembered talking to Docran and him moving away but then things got kind of fuzzy. I thought I remembered seeing dogs fighting and someone grabbing me but I couldn't remember much else; though I had a really vague memory of someone screaming at me and a sharp pain in my back before everything went fuzzy again. The only reason I knew I'd been chloroformed was because it was what stuck in my head, the use of something so old fashioned to knock me out.
Giving up on figuring out what happened I tried to come up with a reason why on earth someone would grab me and dump me in the middle of nowhere. Other than helping Lolonda or should I called her Grim as it definitely annoyed her, time enough to decide if I ever see her again, there wasn't really anything I'd done that would warrant kidnapping at least I didn't think so. Although helping with Jean Luke technically a crime I couldn't see how that would result in being abducted, I wasn't who anyone would want. Grim was some kind of Priestess, Jean Luke was the old clan leader who was dead and walking, Luke was his son, and Docran was the new leader of the pack so why on earth would anyone take me.
"OOOW!!!"
Stopping still that was a noise I either wanted to hear or should be very afraid of hearing. I had to figure the odds, there were two werewolves out there who it would be a good thing to run into however there had to be at least a hundred wolfs and werewolves out there who I was just an early breakfast. Knowing I really should just shut up and keep moving I of course did the idiotic thing and howled back.
