I sat with the small pink box on my lap while i was staring out of the airplane window. Getting the last glimpse of my home city. I've never really left New York for longer than 2 weeks, my life in San Antonio isn't going to be the same as my life back in New York.

There was a couple of older people sitting beside, they looked as if they were in there middle 30 or late 30. They looked happy together, i think they were newly weds. I felt very uncomfortable, it was very awkward for me.

I opened the box that my dad gave me. In it there was a little teddy bear that i got given the day i was born. There was a lot of photo's too. There was one that my eyes noticed the most though. It was one of me and my dad outside the Empire State Building when i was around 9 or 10. He was holding me on his shoulders. That's when i bought my 'I (heart) New York' hoodie, i got a large size because i wanted to be able to wear it for years after that day.I looked through all the other photos. Some of me and my dad on our birthdays. Yeah me and my dad shared the same birthday, well sort of, mine is a day before his. Mine is the 13th of February and his is the 14th of February. We always do something on my birthday and just relax on his.

Anyway, there were pictures of when i was a baby. There was one that had my mum and dad in it, i didn't recognize it. It was us in a park of some sorts and mum and dad were holding me and we were standing by a blossoming tree. I was around about 3 in that picture. It was the only picture in that box that had mum in it. I wasn't surprised, dad didn't keep any photos of mum, gave them all to mum when she left. Still to this day, i don't know why she left but when i arrive in San Antonio that is something i'm going to ask her.

It was only an hour into the flight and i had an other 3 hours and a bit left. I grabbed my iPhone out my back pocket and stuck my headphones in and started playing music. I fell asleep pretty fast. I got woken up from the lady beside.

Abigail: oh sorry, what's happening?

Lady: sorry, i didn't want to wake you up but we're about to land and i thought it'll be best for you if you wake up now

Abigail: oh thank you miss

I turned off my music, it was still playing. I stuck my headphones and iPhone back into my back pocket. I picked up my box and placed it on my lap. I was ready to enter San Antonio.

I felt the Plane land on the runway. We had landed. I unbuckled my seat belt and stood up with my box in my arms and started to head out of the plane. I headed to the Baggage Claim to get my suitcases. I have never seen so many suitcases before, there was so many. It took me ages until i found my 3 bags.

I walked out of the gates, and looked around for my mum, i thought to myself, "this is gonna be hard i don't know what she looks like". I looked at the people who were holding signs but none of them said 'Abigail Lucas'. That's when i hear someone shout my name behind me. I turned round and there stood a middle aged woman with shoulder length brown hair.

Woman: Abigail, is that you? My little Abi?

Abigail: Mum?

Pamela: Yes sweetie it's me. *smiling really  big*

I just stand there, not knowing whether to hug her or be anger that she left me.

Pamela: Honey, am i not getting a hug? it's been 7 years since I've had one of those special hugs

I couldn't help but smile. I couldn't be anger at her forever, i dropped my luggage and ran into her arms. She had a warm motherly hug, one that i hadn't felt in years.

We picked up my bags and walked out to the car. We stuck the suitcases into the truck of the car and my mum drove us back to her house, well it'll be our house from now on i guess.

As she drove, i was staring at all the sights that were passing my window. Looking at all the shops, all the tourist attraction, the sight of my new town. My mum turned into a street. It looked like a nice neighbourhood. She pulled up by a white house, it actually looked quite nice. If i was older i wouldn't have bought it, that's my honest opinion.

We got out the car and grabbed my suitcases when i noticed two people walking past the driveway, a women and a boy.I think they were a mother and son.

Women: Hello Pamela, i guess this is your daughter your were talking to me about?

Pamela: Oh hi Michele, i didn't see you there and yes this is my daughter Abigail. Abigail this is Michele, my friend who lives down the street and her son Austin.

Austin: Hey Abigail, nice to meet you *smiling*

Abigail: Same to you Ausitn

I smiled a little bit, i was hoping my mum wouldn't say what i didn't what her to say but she said it.

Pamela: Abigail, your around the same age as Austin, maybe you two could be friends.

That word, 'friends', the one word i hated, i couldn't trust any of my so called friends back in New York, well apart from Aidan, all the others lied to me and pretended to be my friend and they bitched about me behind my back. I didn't really like the idea my mum had but i didn't want to be mean to him as his mum and my mum were friends.

Abigail: Yeah, nice idea mum, that would be nice.

I smiled and Austin smiled back. We said good bye to Michele and Austin and took my suitcases into the house, to my bedroom.

I walked into my room, it was actually to my style, one wall was a really dark red colour and the other walls were a lighter red.

Pamela: Don't worry you don't have to keep it this colour, you can change it if you want

Abigail: No, i love it this colour.
