It had now been exactly a year and a half since Criss has been drug-free, and about a million times that Felix Rappaport came to the house begging Criss to come back to work, because the dumbass that Rose hired to take his place was a huge fucking joke, and his finances were going downhill like the roller coaster...and he needed his money making magician back, then he added that he looked over his net income since he left the Luxor and he actually started to cry at how low his income has dropped since he left. And if something good didn't happen very soon, he would have to close the Luxor down, because there wasn't enough money being made to keep the building afloat.

Felix gave Criss a hug and said he wasn't pressuring him though, but it was a little embarrassing for his casino, to know that over 3/4 of the customers were there to see him, instead of gamble, and now that he was gone, most of the Luxors customers were gone and it was almost like a graveyard casino. Criss sarcastically laughed at Felix and told him there was no way it was that bad, but when Felix kept a very straight face then showed him the income decreases since he left due to his personal problems, Criss realized that Felix came to him for help in desperation to keep his casino from going under.

Criss looked down at his feet and told Felix that he really wished he could help him, but he wasn't mentally or emotionally ready to get back into that yet, and he wasn't altogether sure if he would ever be ready to get back into the world of work again. Felix gave a saddening sigh and asked him if he wasn't asking too much of him if he asked him why he felt he couldn't perform again. Criss sat down as a few emotional tears began to form in his eyes, and said that while he was performing for thousands of strangers, his wife and son were dying. That if he would have put his family before his fucking job, they would both be alive today. Now every time he even thinks about doing any magic, it would make him feel sick, and then he would have a panic attack.

Felix gave him a hug and said he was going to tell him something about his little boy that he didn't know. Criss looked at him like he lost his mind, but just to humor Felix he said like what. Felix asked him if he remembered all those time he had to work and brought Sammy with him to work and asked Rose or Janine to watch him until he finished his performances. Criss said of course he did. Felix grinned from ear to ear and asked him if he knew that Sammy never stayed with Rose or Janine, that every time after he left to his stage, Sammy would find him, and after taking a few rides spinning in his office chair, then he would ask him if he would take him down to the theater so he could watch his daddy play.

Criss looked up at him in shock but didn't say anything until after Felix was done telling him the story. Felix wrapped his arm around Criss and told him that his three-year-old son was the smartest little guy ever, and the proudest moments of his young life was when he was watching his daddy on stage making all those people cheer, and applaud with standing ovations. Sammy would scream and applaud the loudest, and tell everyone around them that he was his daddy. Then Felix gave him another hug and told him that he shouldn't disappoint his son, by giving up the one dream that he had his entire life. Because it would break not only Sammy's heart, but it would have his father John rolling in his grave. Sammy lived for watching his daddy, then Felix gave him a pat on the back and told him when he was ready to come back to work his job would always be open for him.

Criss stood there in deep emotional confusion as Felix got into his car and headed back to the Luxor. Kc looked out the window and saw Criss with a strange look on his face, so she dried her hands off and ran out and asked him if he was alright. Criss smiled up at her and said Felix was really hassling him about going back to work, and he was actually very desperate about it. Kc gave him a hug as she told him only if he was ready for it. Because if he wasn't mentally or emotionally ready for it, all it would do would cause him trouble, that he didn't need. Criss wrapped his arms around her as he told her how much he loved her and thanked her again for staying with him and giving him a second chance even though he didn't deserve it.

Kc kissed him deeply then said she was behind him 110% no matter what he decided. Criss thought about what she said for a moment then said as he picked her up and gave her a full spin, and said he decided that he was ready to let the past stay in the past, and let his wife and son rest in peace, and move on and look only ahead to the future. Then as he lowered her back to the ground without letting her go, he added that as long as she was with him, his future already was looking pretty damned good to him. Then they both walked hand in hand back into the house because today was housecleaning day and Mama D was already starting without them. Criss didn't care what he was assigned as long as he got to use the large buffer on his floors because he thought playing with that thing was really fucking fun.

Mama D cleaned the kitchen and the bathrooms, Kc cleaned all the bedrooms and did the laundry because she didn't like Mama D going up and down the steep stairs down into the basement. As soon as the laundry was done, she took the large baskets of clean clothes up to the bedrooms so she, Criss, and Mama D could fold them sort them and put them away.
