Chapter 2: Best Breakfast ever

(Aaron's POV)

I turn on the radio in the car which "Marry You" by Bruno Mars comes on the radio channel, I adjust the volume of the radio so that I can listen to the song but at the same time I can listen to Dawn talking to me. Dawn starts to sing along with the song, I adore that part of her, her musical side. I remember I sang this song a while back in third-year high school, about three years ago I remember singing it while trying to pick a piece for my music assignment.

I take a quick glance at Dawn's adorable face while she sings, she's smiling. Her radiant smile lights up my heart with fireworks and explosions, Dawn catches me staring at her which I respond by turning my attention back to the road. Dawn starts to chuckle, afterwards, she asks me, "What were you staring at, Aaron? Were you making fun of my singing?!" She exclaims after. I give her an evil smirk before replying with, "Aha no I wasn't making fun of you spastic. I was-" Dawn then smacks me across my right arm and yells at me, "OMG WERE YOU CHECKING ME OUT?!" I try my best to not blush but I can help it, my cheeks start to feel warm and hot. I stutter in reply, "N-No of course not... w-why would y-you think that?" I ask while blushing really really badly now. Dawn pinches my right cheek while saying, "Aww did Aar-y miss me." She gasps before again adding on to what she said, " AWW YOU'RE SO ADORABLE!" Pinching my right cheek again, I take off my right hand off the steering wheel and gently grab her hand. My heart blows up with happiness and the feeling of home came to me, I just realise that the reason why I feel home when with Dawn its' because she is my home and I wanna stay with her forever.

I start to chuckle then Dawn soon starts to laugh too, I still have my hand on hers, holding it tightly and I didn't want to let go of her. "Umm Aaron?" Dawn asks me, "yes?" I answer back. She then proceeds to ask me, " Do you want to have McDonald's for breakie?" Omg, she's so cute, she just called breakfast breakie... whoa whoa, wait a second calm yourself down Aaron. " umm Aaron?" I look back at Dawn and answer her, "Umm sorry sunshine umm yeah sure let's head to McDonald's." Dawn cheers loudly in the car, but to be honest, McDonald's was one of the only places where breakfast was served around quarter to seven.

Dawn yells out, "AARON!! FOOD!!" I look to my right and yes there was a twenty-four seven McDonalds open, (this was after ten minutes since the last paragraph). I park the car near the entrance of the fast food place. I unlock the doors to let Dawn out, she steps out and I grab my wallet because I know I'll be paying for our breakfast, besides it was gentleman like to pay for a meal I share with Dawn or in fact any girl. This wasn't a date or anything just two best friends who haven't seen each other in a while having breakfast at McDonald's.. "it doesn't mean anything.. right?"

I ask Dawn what would she like for breakie she replies with, "Umm I would like to have a small cheeseburger with a hash brown and a medium Hot Chocolate please." I respond back with, " No problem sunshine." Dawn stares at me before asking, "H-Hey are you ok with pay for this?" I flash a smile at her before answering, " Aww Dawn it's ok.. just think of it as my treat and to repay you for not spending as much time with you as we used to do in the holidays" She too flashes a smile at me which I then tell her, " Hey I got it from here, you can go and find a seat." "Ok." She smiles after agreeing and she makes her way to one of the booths next to the tall transparent glass window.

After I ordered the food, I wait for about five minutes and pick up the meal that Dawn and I had ordered. I walk over to the girl who is sitting down in the red booth next to where the sun's radiant rays hit where Dawn is. I place the tray on the white spotless table before sitting down, Dawn asks me, "Aaron... all you're having is FOUR hash browns and a hot chocolate?!" I respond with a little giggle and confirm, " Yes Dawn, I'm only having four hash browns and a hot chocolate." Dawn drops her jaw like she saw me naked for the first time... ugh, wait why am I thinking that! What's wrong with me today.

Soon after, Dawn and I are talking about what we did in the summer holidays, she mentions a particular day where I accidentally woke her up because she heard someone singing "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. She automatically knew that it was me singing considering I'm the only one in our neighbourhood to have a karaoke machine and the only one who sings on the street well except my parents of course. "Oh.." I answer back not knowing how to reply, "I'm sorry for waking you up." I say while rubbing the back of neck. Dawn then busts out laughing with her saying, " A little too late for that Aaron but it's ok...I l-love your singing." Dawn starts to blush hard, "aww you're so cute.." I mutter to myself. Dawn looks at me before asking, "Sorry did you say something, Aaron?" I shake my head no to hide the fact I just called her cute something I don't usually say in front of her.

(Dawns POV)

Omg.. Did Aaron just say I was cute??!! What! No no I'm imagining things again. I stare at Aaron who's sipping on his hot chocolate, then he lifts his right arm and his hands cupping my left cheek. "OMG!! IS HE GONNA KISS ME?!" My heart just skips a beat, "I can't believe what's happening". I see him leaning in so I close my eyes waiting for his lip to connect with mine but it nothing happens. He just wiped the left side of my lips which had a bit of leftover hot chocolate on it. I blush as he retracts his arm back to him, we both start to chuckle. I've missed this, just Aaron and I and NO ONE to interrupt us from spending quality time together something that we haven't done in a while.

I sit there admiring Aaron, his raven hair with gel in it sparkles when the exotic sun's rays hit through the window on to his dark silky hair. Every time I stare deeply into his eyes I see a twinkle in it. Aaron isn't as interested in sports as some of the jocks in our grade, he's the quiet does his homework and studies kind of guy, I wouldn't classify him as a nerd but he ain't no jock either. He was just plain and simple, that's why when I first met him we clicked immediately. Originally he didn't live next door to me, he lived somewhere closer the outskirts of Star Cove. Until first year no one really lived next door to me, people didn't find it appealing place but I'm so glad that Aaron's family moved in, if they didn't I wouldn't be the Gal I am now.

Aaron catches me staring out the window, he must have known that I was remembering things, so he playfully punches my arm to grab my attention. I turn my head to him and flash a smile at him, he does the same thing. I ask him, "Should we start to head to school?" Aaron afterwards pulls out his phone to check the time, "well its only half past seven, we've got about another hour and ten minutes before school starts." He tells me. I think about where the best place to visit before school starts, then I remember. "I know the perfect place to head to before school starts and I'm pretty sure we can get to school on time and find the perfect place to park your car considering it's always packed in the school car park just before school starts." Aaron simply flashes a sweet smile at me, and says, " Yeah ok sounds like a wonderful idea, although we better not be going to motel Dawn." He retorts, my eyes widen and I smack him with my right hand across his left arm, "Oh My Gosh! Aaron, you know I'm not that kind of girl. who do you think I look like Serena Sextone?" I exclaim to him. Aaron starts to laugh his butt off to what I just said, right before he tells me, " Of course you're not, I've known you since year seven I know you're NOT that kind of girl and I'm happy that you're not. After all, you're my best friend, there are only a few things that I don't know about you and only a few things you don't know about me."

"Ouch.. that hurt", my heart began to sank as he said those words. I pretend that it didn't hurt when in actual fact it did, I bite my lower lip before confirming, " Ok cool so it's settled?" "Yeah" Aaron replies back. "Let's go to the new fountain display in the metro plaza." Aaron nods, we walk towards the door to exit McDonald's, Aaron grabs the door for me, "Aww thanks, Aar-y". I say as I walk past him while grabbing his left cheek with my right hand to tease him. He replies with, " No worries toots." And gives me a wink, I roll my eyes and grab his hand but not before he places his hands around my waist and pulls me into him once again. I tell him, "come on we don't want to be late for school on the first day so if you want to see the new fountain display in the metro plaza before heading into school, we better go... NOW!" He nods, then whispers into my ear, "Ok let's go but promise me that we'll be back in this position later." I could feel his hot breath skim right past the crook of my neck. I roll my eyes while my back is still up against his stomach and answering back with, " Yes fine." Aaron whispers, " Thanks, toots." I grab his hand and head for his car dragging him across the McDonalds car park.
