I Can't Help Falling In Love With You

Chapter 6: Lunch with Megan

(Aaron's POV)

The first two periods were tiresome and completely boring, History was a real bore however what really did it for me was Religion. Miss had us write a PEEL paragraph about why it's important to love thy neighbour as you love yourself. Okay, so maybe Religion wasn't that boring, I saw that Megan was back in my mainstream class yet again. I kept glancing over at her ever so often and I occasionally saw her glancing back at me. Lucky I was with Owen otherwise I wouldn't have survived, I probably would have done something stupid. Recess was interesting to a certain degree, I hung out with Dawn and the others, she didn't seem to be shaken up with the whole her-kissing-me-on-the-cheek-thing. I guess it didn't bother her. Then came third and the fourth period which was Maths and English, nothing exciting happened except that, Megan and Katie kept continuously looking over at me. It kinda got annoying but I felt back yelling across the room and embarrassing the shit out of them, even if they were part of the popular group,  they were still girls none the less. As the bell rang for lunch I dashed out to find Dawn, naturally, she was already waiting in our usual spot. We greeted each other and started making our way towards the library. 

At the beginning of lunch, Dawn drops me off outside the library near the benches, Dawn asks me, "Are you sure you wanna do this Aaron? I mean can't you just tell her that you'd rather hang out with us?". "Whoa Dawn, you know I can't do that. You of all people to tell me this, come on Dawn...it would be just plain rude of me to cancel the last minute" She puts on a pouty expression and looks at me with her puppy dog eyes, "Look don't get all pouty, it's not gonna help Dawny, I already said that I would meet her at lunch and that's what I am doing. Trust me Dawn I'll be fine it's not like it's a date or anything." Dawn stay silence before answering back, "Yeah... ok fine but I want to make sure that she knows that you're mine." WHOA WAIT...WHAT?! I'M DAWN'S I only said that she was mine this morning in the means of a best friend... or did I?". "Okay, Dawn I'm yours." I reply, "Yeah you are mine, you're my best friend and no one and I mean, NO ONE is going to steal you away from me. " "Whoa ok, damn Dawn can get scary ". "Anyway, I better go, Aaron, Cya." Dawn leans in for a hug to which I respond by hugging her, she now makes her way back to down the path we took to get to the library and disappear as she turns the corner. 

Now I'm sitting down outside the school library hoping that Megan actually shows up, I mean I met her at recess and told her to meet me here so I'm kinda hoping she shows up. I'm about to stand, I notice out the corner of my eye Megan walks sheepishly around the corner with her group towards me. I take a massive breath in before releasing it out. They're now standing in my way almost like they're blocking it so I can't escape at the last minute. Well, it's too late now, I stare at all five of them individually then I turn my attention to Megan, "Whoa she is cute...". My gaze was interrupted when Serena asks me, "So Aaron, are you ready to spend time with Megan?" I reply back with, "Y-Yeah I suppose so." Serena turns to Megan and reminds her, "Remember Megan have fun but don't fun too much." I see that Megan blush scarlet at what Serena just said so do I, Megan proceeds to assure Serena, "Y-Yeah, of course, I won't." Serena then bids farewell to her loyal blonde friend and walks away with her posse right behind her, leaving Megan alone with me. Jeez, I wonder how this will turn out.

I sit down with Megan down on the benches near the library, the library was disconnected from the main building of the school so not many people can see us hanging out. It's so awkward right now, there's quite a bit of tension in the air so I began to speak to break the ice and say "H-Hey Megan..." She turns my way, to which I see how elegant her golden blonde hair glistens when the sun licks her platted hair. It seems like she's got this mysterious aura that surrounds her, I can't really explain it but it's like I'm gazing upon a real-life princess. Megan proceeds with continuing our convocation, "Hey Aaron, how's your day been so far?"
