It wasn't the insults that made me feel hurt, but the truth behind it. I mean looking at the facts Melvin and I could never be together. He was the school star, most handsome, talented basket baller and of course every girl's dream that's why I kind of doubt if that girl was being true when she said Melvin was hers.
Who cares? I muttered to myself as I disposed the tissue with which I used to dry my tears and headed out of the toilet. I didn't want to get any one's attention let alone those sassy girls from earlier. Where do I go now? I didn't want to return to class out of fear that those girls would be there too and probably they might end up bullying me. Neither did I want to see Melvin; kind of inferior feeling. Seeing him made me feel even the more unfit.
So I decided to take a stroll in the school garden. My school was a really big one both in length and width and of course expensive too. The school for the rich I'll say. But I was only able to attend here because there was a generous percentage less for not so wealthy people. And since mum fell into that category, she made use of that opportunity. So here I was a student in one of the prestigious high school in South Africa.
Right in the garden, I bet I could puke when I sighted some student having adult fun some inches away from me. Would Melvin and I do those when we get together? I stupidly thought and quickly laughed off my insane thought. What a weird girl you are Leah. I said to myself smiling and laughing.
"What you laughing at?" I was startled when I heard someone's voice. I didn't realize I had company, the route I had taken, I thought no one but I was there. Looking at the guy he looked as though he's been abandoned there. But why does he have our school uniform on? "I'm talking to you." He said.
"Oh no no. Not at all. I wasn't looking at you. I didn't even notice you were there. I'll just leave now." I said as I wanted to go.
"Don't you dare take another step." I froze on my spot. "I know who you're and your agenda." Really you do? Then I guess you know I really want to pee on my pants if you don't let me go. "You are among the school media group and if I'm not mistaken you'll report me to your leader and then write a school publication on how students like I ditch class right?"
What exactly did this dude have for break fast? What on earth made him think as rigorous as me joining the school media group? I mean who exactly will grant my-
"I'm still talking here. Don't you dare act clueless."
"No. Not at all stranger. Believe me; I don't have the slightest clue of what you saying. I'm just an innocent girl taking a walk round the school garden."
"Is that so?" he said.
"Yeah really so."
"Then why were you laughing and smiling? Or is that your normal behavior when talking walks?" hmmm, why do I feel you indirectly meant I could be insane.
"No, umm yeah. Actually no. I just imagined some crazy stuff that's all. I couldn't help but smile." I said.
"Well then I thought you were-" I was completely lost in my own world when out of no where Melvin walked past us. Just the scent of his perfume got me falling. I couldn't get my eyes off him that my eyes followed him from when he passed from our side still he disappeared from eyes length. Just seeing him had made what ever insecurity I felt vanish. Gush! He's sure a hottie.
"Hey!" The stranger guy snapped his finger right to my face to get me back to reality.
"What was that for?" I asked in defense.
"To get you back to reality. It seemed as though you dazed off when Melvin passed by."
"Melvin? You know him?"
