I own nothing!!! As much fun as I would have with the Walking Dead I'm not a millionaire. I just play in the sandbox and return the characters, mostly unharmed.

The time I spent alone was both a good thing and yet not.
You see, I am not good at being alone....at all. Merle and Daryl learned this the hard way as I clung to them when I came back from a tour.
Dixon Cuddles are fun though ;)
I found an abandoned doctors office and made sure to keep it up and running. In this world, my skills as a combat medic would be worth keeping me alive instead of killing me.
Only two months in and I already need to make a run to a big city. My medical supplies were running out and i needed to make sure they would stay full. FEMA supplies only went so far.
Atlanta was my best bet seeing as I cleaned out the surrounding towns already. The hospital was my first hit and I stared amazed at the man stumbling out of a room.
I must have momentarily frightened him because he tripped over his own feet.
"Easy, I'm not going to hurt you." I drawled slowly, lowering my mask and hood. "You need to breath or you'll pass out at this rate."
He seemed to calm down but kept looking at one of the door behind me. I peeked over my shoulder quickly.
I chuckled a little and turned back to the male in front of me.
"I take it that you didn't listen to the warning and Walkers almost got you?" He nodded dumbfounded and I gave him a small grin. "I'm Nadia Emerson and your name?"
"R..Rick Grimes ma'am. Walkers?" I kneeled next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I take it you've been in a coma this whole time. Walkers are the Walking Dead. Give them a chance and they'll eat you alive. So don't let them scratch or bite you. Do you mind if I check you out just to make sure nothing went wrong while your machines were out? I'm a medic."
Rick nodded slowly and I let out a small laugh before beginning my examination.
"So do you remember when you got shot sir?"
"Umm...Where exactly am I?" Rick asked blinking slowly.
"Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Georiga. You were shot while on a call near I-20." I pulled his file over and ran over it real quickly. "Let's get you to a bed so I can check the stitches."
He numbly followed my orders as I checked his blood pressure and heart rate.
"Am I okay doc?" Rick's voice was filled with amusement now and I laughed slightly.
"You're good for now Mr. Grimes...now what do you need to know? Oh and change into these, I can't take you seriously with that hospital gown."
Rick gave me a glare before thankfully changing. Seems like the gown bothered him too.
"So you seem to be fine..." Rick asked as he watched me raid the medical closet. "Are you alone?"
I poked my head out of the closet and sighed. "Yeah. I couldn't find my....well....boyfriends? I'm just making sure that I have enough medication to help people as I go."
"You said you were a field medic?" Rick was placing other medication into the other duffle I had, causing me to grin.
"Semper Fi, do or die. Marines. Let's get you to your house now....Sheriff." My only responce to the end comment was a deadpan.
I marked the map where I was set up and handed it to Rick. He took it with a confused expression. "This is the doctor's office where I am set up. There is a jumpers base on far from there where I am slowly building up. If ANYTHING goes wrong, come to me."
Tears filled his eyes and I was pulled into a huge hug. "Thank you so much. If I come across Daryl or Merle I will let them know where you are."
A small smile crawled across my face and I hugged him back. "Thank you and here..." I pulled my necklace out of my shirt. I hesitated before handing it to him. "Show this to them and they will believe you."
Rick saw the hesitation and tucked it under his shirt. "I will take good care of it. Thank you for everything Dia."
We split ways and I made my way back to my base camp in silence.
It took me a few days to set up everything that Rick had helped me get, but it was done soon enough.
The jumpers base was cleared but the walls were falling, causing most of my days to be wall building and repair. Again in silence.
I hated silence.....but at least lives would be saved. That was after all, my job and my creed.
"To no man will I cause or permit harm to befall, nor will I refuse aid to any who seek it."
Except Zombies....they aren't human anymore.
