YiJeong knew he could be a bit dramatic. He also knew he often had major mood swings due to always feeling so damn depressed. That probably explained why he'd so suddenly had that onslaught of emotional insecurity bubble to the surface earlier. Even if he didn't voice it, he was always curious about why his life had to be the way it was. Why couldn't he have parents? Why couldn't he be happy with someone?
He had some 'more than friendly' feelings for Kyungil, but come on, let's be honest, it wouldn't work. Kyungil was at least 2000 years old if not older, he wasn't even technically alive for crying out loud. His job is to guide souls into the afterlife and YiJeong constantly wonders when he finds the time to do it because Kyungil's always stuck up in his face.
"What are you thinking about," a questioning voice breaks YiJeong out of his thoughts. To his left sits one of his best friends, Kim Jaejoong, beauty extraordinaire. "Where did you even come from?" YiJeong questions while recovering from his initial shock of being scared.
"A class you didn't attend, mind telling me why you weren't there?" Jaejoong questions swiftly. YiJeong sighs before deciding to answer,"I've had a lot going on lately."
And of course Jaejoong wanted to push and ask more questions, but he knew more than anyone else that it would only upset YiJeong. "You can always talk to me you know, i'm always an open ear," Jaejoong responded before turning his attention back to the book YiJeong hadn't noticed before. "Yeah, thanks."
The two boys sat together for another hour or so before deciding to head over to their favorite burger joint down the street because 'you can never eat enough when you're stressed YiJeong'. Jaejoong's logic made no sense but the younger could go along with it.
"I don't see how stress eating will help but thanks for the burger anyways hyung," YiJeong remarked after sitting down with his food. And in his head he knew what Kyungil would say when he found out the younger had been stress eating.
"yeah yeah," Jaejoong replied,"just eat up before it gets cold."
And YiJeong would be lying if he said he wasn't starting to feel better already.

"You're home late," a voice called out from somewhere around the empty house. Instead of answering, YiJeong went to his room and jumped face first onto his bed.
"So now you're just going to ignore me? Stop being childish would you," the voice continued. And yet again the boy kept his mouth shut.
"YiJeong i'm talking to you," the voice called out again. "For the first time in a long time," YiJeong muttered back.
"What did you say?" the voice asked," are you being smart with me?"
"YiJeong please answer the man before he comes in here and tries to hit you," Kyungil whispered from beside the boy.
YiJeong shook his head no from where it was buried under his pillows. "YiJeong," Kyungil warned," if he tries to hit you, you know I won't stop myself from hitting him."
"Why bother Kyungil? Just let him hit me," YiJeong responded," you're not supposed to protect me anyways."
Before Kyungil could respond, footsteps began approaching the room YiJeong lay in. "I said you were late and you have the audacity to ignore me?"
"Dokyun why are you here?" YiJeong asks the other man in the room.
"You know I always stop by once a week to check on you and you're late. So tell me, why are you late?" Dokyun asks.
"Why do you care? Stop checking on me, i'm not a child anymore."
"Don't get smart with me Jeong, you know I won't tolerate your attitude just because your dad isn't here," Dokyun says sharply. And even Dokyun knows what he says was a low blow. Granted his brother had left YiJeong behind a long time ago he still came to check on the little brat.
"Please just go away," the boys voice came out muffled from the pillows,"I just want to sleep."

and so as usual I am late with another update because i've been applying to colleges and things. anyways, dokyun is yijeong's uncle and an asshole. he hardly talks to the boy and will sometimes hit him if he feels necessary. and as much as kyungil wants to hit him back, yijeong won't let him. I don't remember where i'm even supposed to go with this story but i'm sure my mind will concoct something lmao. see you again in the next lame ass chapter!
