Mother

As I enter my old dark home,
Crashes can be heard through the walls.
I closed my eyes,
And listened as the sound echo through the halls.

***

When did his father start drinking?
I can't remember.
I glanced at the cupboard under the stairs,
The only person who knew was her.

***

A horrible stench met me when I opened the cupboard.
I looked down at the wooden steps,
They look old and rotten,
I ignored the creaks under my feet,
Knowing it can collapse with one misstep.

***

A shiver ran through my spine,
There is no hole for the wind to enter.
No, it's not the cold,
It's because of those lifeless eyes from the Nether.

***

"I'm back again Mother."
There is no reply.
I tilted my head up,
After all she's up so high.

***

I stared at the hanging and decaying corpse,
She's dead.
No one can answer my question now,
It will just continue to mess with my head.

***

I closed the cubboard door,
My mind in a haze.
I will go insane!
The mere thought made me want to explode in rage.

***

The stench of alcohol, dead rats and trash,
I'm so tired of it.
I glanced at the empty pill bottle,
Soon, it will all be over.
I closed my eyes,
My last thought was,
'I guess it's was my fault too.'
