"People think that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective veiwpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... stuff." -The Doctor
I was hungry. Really hungry. I wondered how long I had been unconcious the other day. But apperantly it wasn't really a different day to people, even though it felt like one to me, becuase of some time travel thing... yeah, I lost the Doctor here. He can get really confusing and technical.
I started opening up cabinets in the kitchen while the Doctor scanned for lifeforms with his "Sonic Screwdriver" which was really a stick with a light at the end and makes a noise.
"What kind of doctor are you?" I had asked on the way here. Apparently when I woke up we were orbiting the moon, and now we were on our way back.
"I'm just the Doctor," he had replied. The TARDIS gave a violent shake and I nearly fell into a railing that bordered the walls.
"Thats your name? Have you even been to medical school?" I asked.
"Sure and eh," he reached for a lever and the shaking and whooshing had stopped. We had walked out into my living room.
There was no food in this house.
I ditched the cupboards and went to the pantry. I could hear the Doctor buzzing away with "the sonic" in the other room. I opened the pantry door.... and slamed it shut. Why did I do that? I couldn't remember. I felt like something important was behind the door, that I was missing something. And I had the Doctor's name on the tip of my tounge, as if I was going to scream for him. Why was I going to scream?
My head started to hurt. I moaned and sat at our kitchen counter, clutching my head in my hands. Maybe it was because of the hunger?
The Doctor ran in. "Hey, Cat!" He called me that because the first thing I did when I got home was let Artemis out of the laundry room. He wouldn't stop calling me it even with my arguing.
"I found some life signs in the basement, so maybe the angel is out and about. Be prepared to do the worlds most extreme staring contest. Oh, and don't look into their eyes. I had a friend who did that and nearly died. Are you ok?" he talks a million miles an hour.
I nodded(bad idea!), groaned quietly and stood up. The room started to revolve around me. Dizzy, I sat back down.
The Doctor looked at me curiously (again),"Are you sure you're OK?" he asked again.
I looked up at him. Suddenly the senation stopped. I got up and looked around. "Yeah," I replyed. "Lets catch a killer angel."
We walked down the stairs cautiosly, in case of any surprise attacks, but nothing came. When we reached the bottom, the Doctor pulled out a flashlight, and I tried the lightswitches. My dad had placed them at the bottom of the steps so it would be more convenient for us when we were little. Surprisingly, they all turned on.
The Doctor walked over. "That's weird. That's very weird. Where is that angel? There should be only one..." He slowed down and spun around. I, still fiddling with the lightswitch, heard him give a little, "Oh."
I was afraid to turn around. "Let me guess. You 'terribly' misjudged how many angels there were and now they snuck up behind us," I snapped, guessing what happened based on what I know from movies.
"Rule number one: the Doctor lies," he replied as if he said that everyday, confirming my suspicions.
At this point I did turn around to be met with a sight that almost made me sob with frusteration. Twenty angels had piled into our basement through our back door while we were examining the lights.
The Doctor explained what we were going to do on the TARDIS. Every angel had a different time and place that they send their victims. We were going to find the angel that touched Chris, Matt, and Pansey, pick up some sort of signal, and trace it back to where they landed.
It was going to be like a minefield trying to find the right one.
Then the lights started flickering.
As if our job wasn't hard enough already.
The Doctor started scanning around with his screwdriver and looked over at an angel to our right. "You look like you've had a meal recently," he said. "Catherine, watch the others. I'm finding your brother."
I focused on watching the angels, despite how tempted I was to look over and see what was going on. The lights were only flickering for the time being, not blinking out.
I lost track of how long I had stared at these silent predators while the Doctor worked. The lights were blinking more franticly now, and some angels had moved foreword.
Closer, and closer, and closer. Then my eyes started to itch.
The buzzing of the sonic stopped. Did the Doctor get caught? I thought of looking away for a second when a hand grabbed mine.
I jumped.
"Run." It was the Doctor. I hightailed it upstairs(if you can call it that while going backwards), the Doctor coming up behind me. He used the sonic on the door, locking it. I wonder how it works...
"I've strengthened the lock, so it should hold them long enough for us to get away," he hurried toward the TARDIS.
I ran in after him. "What about my parents?" I asked.
He slowed down and stopped at the consol in the center of the room. "I can go back in time and save them. Right now let's concentrate on finding your brother, yes?" He spun around and smiled.
I gave a wary smile back. "Sure?"
"Fantastic." he pluged his sonic into the consol and watched something appear on the screen. His smile evolved into a frown.
"What is it?" I walked over to join him.
He looked up at me and swiveled the screen for me to see.
The screen read:
Earth: 150 million years ago- Late Jurassic period
My brother was stuck with the dinosaurs.
Sooooooooooo... here's my new update. Hope you liked it. Note that I'm a slow writer, so it will be a while before updates. Allons-y!
