"A straight line may be the shortest distance between points, but it is by no means the most interesting." -The Doctor
We followed the buzzing sonic through the woods. Despite the fact that I changed, I was still sweating like crazy. And the humidity wasn't helping.
A purple dragonfly flew past my head and I swatted at it. It dodged, seened to give me a dirty look, and flew on ahead of us.
"Why are there bugs at all?" I asked the Doctor.
He gave me a look similar to the dragonfly's. "Without bugs, the world will be tipped out of balance and we all will suffer in some way. Take it from a time traveler, everything has a meaning on this planet." I stopped and stood there for a second. Was he trying to suggest that I had to do something in my future? I shook off the feeling and continued on my way.
"Is there water nearby, at least? Dragonflys come from the water normaly, right?" I was absolutly parched.
We continued walking. "That's actualy clever thinking, Cat," He called back.
We soon came to a stop at the end of the treeline. Before us orangey-yellow beaches bordered a large lake that spanned an area even larger than my neighborhood (Which is pretty large). Various dinosaurs bent down to drink out of the shallow. Little dinosaurs sniffed, nipped, and frolicked around with each other. Some long-necked dinosaurs waded farther into the water and were munching on some sort of plant. Large, bony dinos I recognised as Stegosaurus were looking over at us suspiciously and sheilding their young. There was even some that looked like a mini T-Rex with a plate jammed into it's head.
The Doctor stepped out of the forest and started running around like a happy child naming as many dinos as he could. None of them started looking at him hungrily, so I ran after him.
"Stegosaurus! Diplodocus! Ceropods! Iguanodons! Ankylosaurus!" A gigantic, spiky armadillo with a club on it's tail stared threatanly down on us. I slowly backed away.
"Doctor!" I called. He stopped ranting and looked up at me. "Is it safe to drink this water, or did a dino pee in it or something?" I asked as yet another dinosaur gave me a dirty look.
He walked over to me and led me to the lakeside. "With the sonic it is." he scooped up some in one hand and buzzed the sonic in another. He took a drink and nodded me to copy. I scooped up some and the Doctor used the Sonic. When he was done I raised my hands to my face and tentitivly took a sip. The freshest, coolest water I have ever tasted ran over my tounge. I gulped down the water in my hand and went to splash some on myself. Why did I ever wear a black shirt and shorts?
"How does the sonic work like that?" I looked up to find the Doctor, but he had dissapeared. "Doc-" I started as I was grabbed from behind. I caught a flash of green and smelled something acidic before I passed out.

I was sleeping so nicely. No nightmares. No blue box. No weaping angels. My brother was jumping on my bed near my feet. I tried to roll over, but when I did, my wrists caught on something and Chris stopped jumping.
I opened my heavy eyelids and screamed. I was most definently not at home. I couldn't believe I had made the same mistake twice. This time, instead of laying on the TARDIS floor with the Doctor standing over top of me, I was in a dirt room on a surgical table with a lizard person in a lab coat standing over me with a syringe.
It flinched. "What are you?" it had a strangely femenine voice.
"I'm an American citizen, you lizard woman! Release me at once or I'll call for backup, and you don't want that! I'll call for the SWAT team, the president, my second grade teacher-" and she stabbed me with the needle and I went limp.
