The car ride was a bit awkward; neither you or Dark spoke to one another. You would have turned the radio on but you didn't know if Dark liked the same music as you, since your family found it to be quite irritating at times. Instead of focusing on how awkward the silence that filled the car was, you looked out of the window, watching the firmilliar environment surround you. You sighed once you past your old highschool, remembering your few friends and a couple of decent teachers that you haven't been in touch with since graduation, really.
Dark drove past a small park in a broken down neighbourhood behind the stores and you looked to your lap, not wanting to remember much anymore. Your parents used to always take you and your sister there when you were kids; it was so much fun until she got institutionalized by her doctor for some of her mental illnesses, and boy did he diagnose her with some crazy things. Most of the things you couldn't even recall the name of, but your father became even more isolated than he already was.
"We're here." You snapped out of your daze when Dark spoke. and looked up at the building you used to call home. "You ready? It may be a bit hard for you but we'll leave as soon as you get your things."
"How would it be hard? I've only been gone for a day; it can't possibly be that bad." You said, honestly not knowing what could go wrong other than at least your mother freaking out and asking what happened. He sighed and got out of the car as you got out and followed him as well. You walked up to the door and knocked on it and waited, as it soon was opened and you were greeted by your mother's face. Her eyes grew wide and she wrapped her arms around you and started to cry into your neck. You were startled at first but then pat her back for reassurance. "Mom, I'm okay. I've got to get some things..."
"What do you mean you need to get some things? Where have you been, sweetheart?" She asked as she stepped back from the hug, keeping her hands rested upon your shoulders and looked at you with her brows raised in confusion.
"I need to get my clothes and things...I'm leaving mom. Don't worry though" you smiled at her, hoping that she would be just a bit more understanding "My new friend Dark has been taking care of me..." As soon as you said Dark's name, she looked behind you at the demon who towered over her daughter. She stepped back in fear before pulling your arm and you stumbled inside. She tried to push the door shut before Dark put his hand on the door, forcing it open so that he could walk inside behind you.
"Hello Stacy..." He said in a deep voice as he looked at your mother. How did he know her name? Have they met before? She spat in his face and he winced as the spit dripped down his cheek. "I take it you aren't happy to see me..." Dark said and wiped the saliva from his grayish skin.
"Why did you take my daughter?! You know damn good and well that I told you to stay the HELL AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!" She screamed. You tugged on your arm but her grip became tighter.
"I'm taking her back to live with her real family. Don't you want her to be with her father?" He said harshly as his lips were a bit tensed up as he spoke. "We are her real family! Don't put that bullshit in her head!!" Your mother screamed back with retaliation.
You ripped your arm out of your mother's grasp. "Mom, what are you talking about?" She looked at you with poisonous eyes. "Shut up and go to your room. You are NOT leaving with this bastard. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE DARK!" Your eyes moved to Dark who had an intense black mist surrounding him; red and blue hues lifted from his skin and mimicked his body features as if they were projections.
"What does she mean, Dark?" Your voice started to shake and he didn't remove his eyes from your mother as he spoke.
"Go get your things. We need to leave."
"You aren't taking my daughter!" You heard your mother scream again. Dark hissed as you opened your mouth again. "Dark? Tell me what's going on! Plea-"
"(Y/N) I said go get your things. NOW!" His voice boomed through the house, immediately making your mouth shut. Tears streamed down your face as you ran up the stairs and heard a loud thud against the wall. You shook your head and batted your eyes so that the tears rolled down your cheeks instead of being held up in your eyes, blurring everything. You walked into the room and saw your sister sitting in the exact same place as before. The room was different somehow, but you disregarded it and gathered all of your belongings.
When you had all of your things packed up, you took notice of everything that was different in the room. The walls were a different colour than before and more posters were put up, as well as your bed was gone. Did Destiny change the whole room just because you were gone for a day...? You saw a newspaper that was laying on the floor and picked it up. You read over the title,
"Worker Found Dead At Local Zoo"
You started to cry even more when you looked at the picture, seeing your body lie on the ground with blood puddled around you. They thought you were dead? And even more, your sister didn't even care?! You threw the newspaper down and ran out of the room and down the stairs. Destiny didn't bother to even look up once from her phone, so she had no clue that you were even there. When you got down the stairs, you saw Dark by the front door, already looking at you. You looked over into the kitchen and saw your mother with blood covering the floor and your mother dead in the midst of it. "MOM!" You screeched and ran over to her, crying more than you ever had. The only person in the family who actually cared about you was now gone and she was killed by someone who you thought was your friend.
"Get in the car (y/n)..." Dark said, still at the door as he opened it.
"YOU KILLED HER! YOU KILLED MY MOM!" You screamed as you leaned down, hugging her and crying on her shirt. "Get in the car now..." He said as he walked over to you.
"NO!" Your voice echoed throughout the house as Dark grabbed your shoulder and you swung your hand back, hitting him straight in the face. Blood started to drip down from his nose as he grabbed your arm and ripped you off of the floor, causing you to drop your mom back onto the floor. He dragged you out of the house and practically threw you into the car, along with your bags. He got into the car and you looked over to him as he avoided all eye contact, driving away.
"I'll explain to you later..." He said, pressing the gas harder and turning the radio on to muffle the sounds of your crying and sniffling. You can't believe that this was happening...who was your real family? Why did he kill her...? What's happening? Why is this all happening to you...? You hoped you could get your answers soon.
(A/N: Hiya guysssss! So, I'm sorry if this chapter wasn't what anybody wanted, but I wanted to write it sooner or later and I didn't have many ideas for what would happen next, so I used it now. Since I used it now, I'm going to have to make a reveal a bit sooner than I would have wished; but it's for the better of development for the story, so might as well. Thanks for reading! ~Max)
