Meeting Vaati the Wind Mage

My friends and I decided to join Zelda to help her rescue Link and Vaati and her kingdom from ruin. We set up camp for the night in the middle of the woods.

"Vaati's palace is right ahead. We should reach it by noon tomorrow. Vaati once told me that if ever needed I could go there." Zelda informed us. I knew Zelda loved Link. Vaati being imprisoned probably wanted comfort I feared what they were doing to Vaati and Link since the Wind Mage changed and decided to stop being Ganondorf's Servant. I took my hat off my head and put it in my bag replacing it with my blue cape that I used as a blanket whenever I got cold. I used to have fun roleplaying with my friends me pretending to be Vaati and Tetra and Owen Link and Red, but anyways I now used that cape as a blanket. I pulled the long blue cape that I had in my bag and wrapped it around me and put it on. It was a bit chilly. I lied back on the cold grass looking up and looked up at the night sky. I saw the three others lay down

"Night guys!" Owen said and Tetra and Zelda also said their goodnights before they fell asleep. I, on the other hand, continued to stare at the starry sky. I let out a breath I wasn't even aware I was holding. 'Why am I thinking that I don't even have feelings for anyone. Let alone a video game character who happens to be a Wind Mage, who is rather handsome. Wait, what?!' I was lost in my thoughts until I heard footsteps. I looked around and I saw Princess Zelda, Owen and Tetra sleeping so who could have been walking? I sat up.

"Who's there?" I called out. I got no response. I got up and froze for a few when I felt a very strong breeze all of a sudden. I followed the noise and stopped dead in my tracks when a man who looked to be my height which was 5' 5" inches tall. He had a purple cape wrapped around his shoulders. He had lavender colored hair. His hair flowed to his middle back. It sure was long but I knew he wasn't a female. He had part of his bangs covering his one eye. That was nothing new because he always wore it like that though I always wondered what was under it. He wore a now torn purple tunic and shorts which looked to be red and sandals. He had on a cap with a red orb in the center I felt the breeze pick up stronger when he inched a little bit closer out of the shadows. I stumbled backward's and started to sweat. It dawned on me it was the Wind Mage. He looked at me with curiosity and I wasn't paying attention and tripped over Owen and fell. He moved. He groaned and looked at me, his eyes widened.

"What are you so spooked about?" He said grouchily.

"Open your eyes and take a look for yourself."I snapped back at Owen earning a laugh from the Wind Mage. I turned to see the Wind mage walked up closer and knelt down. My eyes widen and Owen finally realized why I was freaking out. The Wind mage stretched his hand out to me to shake mine. Shaking, I slowly moved my hand to his, I looked him in the eyes and he saw the fear. He smiled apologetically and said.

"Don't be frightened dear, I won't hurt you. Or your friends or the princess I just need help defeating someone."Then I remembered what Princess Zelda told me.

"How did you escape Ganon? Didn't he lock you and Link up?" I watched as he smirked.

"You're a smart one. Miss, and yes but I managed to teleport. That's all I can really do because Ganondorf drained what so little I had left of me at least I can teleport. I feel bad for leaving Link who is still trapped. poor boy..." He drifted off and I noticed on his face just near his eye was a deep cut and on his hand was twisted slightly out of what it was supposed to be and I spotted a bruise on his leg. I gasped in horror

"I think my friends, Princess Zelda, and I can help you. but I hate to ask this of you Vaati what did that ruthless bastard do to you?" He realized that I noticed his scars. He growled and turned away from me but I grabbed his arm gently and made him face me.

"Vaati, what did he do to you?!" I said sternly. He then looked at me and he broke. He fell to his knees. He rolled up his sleeve revealing cuts, and burn marks and even stitches. My eyes widen in horror. If that's what Ganondorf did to Vaati, what was he doing to Link? Whatever it was it seemed to make the Wind Mage be afraid to let people near him. I knelt down in front of Vaati, and gently put my hand on his shoulder. Since I took a nap earlier I wasn't even tired I was full of energy. Vaati peaked up at me from looking down

"He can't hurt you anymore. He can't control your mind any more Vaati, He won't lay one finger on you anymore Vaati, don't worry," I reassured him and I noticed the sun peaking over the horizon. Without warning, Vaati broke down and fell into my arms and started to cry to the point where Tetra and Zelda jolted up.

"What-" Zelda gasped. "Vaati?" Vaati continued to sob on my shoulder and slowly and gently I wrapped my arms around him. I looked at Zelda. Vaati suddenly died down on sobbing and it turned into sniffling. When he realized what he had done he jolted away and looked at me, eyes wide

"I'm sorry..." He stuttered. I smiled sweetly and I said "He will not get you anymore," Vaati calmed down completely

"Thanks for putting up with my crybaby ass."

"Don't you don't need to say that I was like that when I was younger too Vaati. I know what abuse is like Vaati,"

"What was your name I never got it?"

"Samantha. Just call me Sam." Vaati stood back up and I noticed that I was still in the dress and cape and my hair was still over my one eye.

"You look like me..."

"My friends wanted to act out the Four Swords scenario so I dressed as you but that isn't really important right now." He smiled and slouched in his purple cape. I smiled. Vaati yawned and passed right out. I motioned Zelda and Tetra over to me.

"Okay we need to find a way to get Link out of that dungeon and fast and we need a strategic plan on how to take Ganondorf down," I said. Zelda eyed me curiously

"Vaati has been severely abused by Ganondorf there is cuts all over him and dried up blood and a broken arm." Zelda gasped and Tetra stumbled

"I fear for Link that he is getting the same he drained what little was left of Vaati and now all he can do is teleport from here to there. That's how he escaped is teleportation. Poor Vaati he was so scared to show me and to tell me. I noticed the cut under his eye and some of his ears are chipped."

"We need to move quickly that means we need to wake those two up," Tetra said marching over to Vaati.

"Tetra he is exhausted Zelda, is Vaati very light and easy to pick up?" I asked. Zelda nodded.

"Let me wake Owen up and I will carry Vaati." Vaati may be my height but from hearing Zelda talk he seemed light and easy to pick up.
