The Beast Within

Samantha's P.O.V.
      
   I was getting weaker and weaker. I opened my eyes and leaned over the horse and threw up. I leaned forward using the horse's neck as a pillow to lay my head on. I heard Vaati shout for Zelda. Where was she? I heard a door open and Zelda came out holding an ocarina. I tried to sit up and I was so weak I fell back into Vaati. Zelda led the horse into an empty field.

    "Be careful with her but lift her up and lay her on the grass," Zelda said. And that's when I blacked out. The next time I woke up I felt a gentle hand on my cheek and a lot of heat coursing through where my bite was. I coughed and sat up. The pain in my arm was gone. As soon as I sat up I got tackled by a hug from Vaati.

"Don't you ever move me like that again! Do you understand me!" He said then hugged me

"You're a good friend," Vaati said. I guess you could say I was his first friend that ever listened to him. Sad really. I remembered when I was little I was an outcast in school and no one really liked me. I snapped out my flashback when I heard a shout and I seen very very dark clouds roll in. I felt the ground shake a little bit.

"Get us out of here!" Vaati shouted.

"What is happening?" I was scared and confused about what was going on.

"Ganon knows about you now, how? I don't know something tells me he has someone spying on us. Let's move! I have a strong feeling about him wanting to capture you." As soon as he said that I saw a black horse with someone riding it in the distance. I screamed and stumbled backward and fell. I stood up.

"Everyone run now!" I shouted. I saw Vaati run up next to me with Epona. I jumped on and we ran away from the field. I sensed the horse that was chasing us getting closer.

"Dark Link! He was the spy!" Vaati sounded pissed. Epona reared up, I didn't have time to grab hold of Vaati's belt to stay on the horse. I fell off Epona. All of a sudden I felt a chill run down my spine. The temperature around me dropped. I froze. Before I could shout for help, a hand wrapped around my waist and another hand covered my mouth.

"Cooperate and I won't have a problem if you do I won't hesitate to snap your neck." My eyes widened with fear. I felt tears prick my eyes but I didn't show it. I saw Epona stop and Vaati turned to look behind him but before he could see what happened everything went black.

I felt pain shoot through me though I couldn't open my eyes yet. Why was I feeling this much pain? The next thing I knew I stood on four paws and Was black and red. I stood from laying down and I towered over the man that just tried to take me I looked over my shoulder and saw my friends standing in shock as they saw me. I turned around and I growled at Dark Link to the point the ground shook. I stood tall over Dark Link and showed all my teeth. With one swipe of my paw, I sent Dark Link flying several feet backward. Dark Link eventually got up and disappeared. I shook causing my tail to wag. I turned around and I saw Vaati's jaw drop and my other friends frozen in place. I heard Zelda say

"So that was why she got so sick! She is like Link, She is a wolf!"

"And she is a warrior!" Vaati added. I walked over and sat down. The first to pet me was Trisha and Owen but the one thing that shocked me was when Vaati stuck his hand out towards me. I knew what he was doing when he did that. As soon as I was about to nuzzle his hand with my nose I hit the ground. I whimpered then my eyes rolled back.

I opened my eyes once more and I sat up slowly. I examined my hands and they were back to normal. I stood up. I had my human form back. I stumbled a little bit but soon regained my strength. I turned and seen my friends talking to one another. I don't think they noticed me.

"What exactly happened back there?" I asked. Vaati turned and his eyes widened. He ran over to me and tackled me with a hug.

"You're normal again!" I was surprised.

"V-Vaati, yes I am back to normal." I chuckled. Everyone tackled me with a hug.

"Everyone off I can't breathe!" I said trying to breathe the best I could but they managed to squeeze the energy out of me. That night we set up camp again and I slept like a rock that is until I had this dream.
