Gerard's Pov:

I'm so glad my brother accepts me and Frank being together, it honestly makes me so happy I don't think I would have been able to live with myself if I married Frank without Mikey approving. Mikey has just always been there for me when I felt like no one else has and he's been jealous of Frank because he feels like Frank is replacing him, but in reality nothing ever could. Anyways, we pay for the food once we all finish and Frank and I start to head home. It wasn't that late, only about 1:30 so we decide to head to my parent's house which isn't too far away from mine and Frank's house but just far enough that we had to drive, so we stop at the house and we get in the car, quickly heading to my parent's house. When we get there we got out of the car and knocked on the door. My mom answers the door and smiles brightly when she sees us.
"Why hello Gerard and Frank, it's so nice to see you, please come in" She says and we walk in.
"It's nice to see you too mommy... where's dad?" I ask
"Oh he's at the store but he should be back soon"
"Ok" I smile. We chat for a while about random things and eventually my dad comes home. We start chatting with him and we share many laughs and tell many stories, but one story Frank and I have to tell has yet to be told. After a little while of random banter and story telling, Frank and I share a look saying it was time.
"Mom, dad, Frank and I have some news for you."
My mom's eyes widen "Are you two ok, are you guys breaking up?" She asks kind of panicked... mom has always liked Frank.
"No, god no mom, in fact it's quite the opposite of that"
"What do you mean Gerard?" My dad asks
"Well Frank and I are engaged"
My mom's face lights up and my dad looks like he's about to cry with how happy he is.
"Gerard I'm so happy for you," mom says before turning to Frank "Please Frank take good care of Gerard for us.... you're such a sweet kid and I'm so happy you are the one who will be with Gerard."
"I will Donna, you know I only want the best for Gerard" When Frank says that my mom basically smothers him in hugs. My dad laughs quietly,
"Donna don't smother the kid," he says and mom pulls away from Frank who giggles, "I'm used to it, Gerard does it to me all the time"
I giggle "It's true"
"How long have you two been engaged?" Dad asks
"A little less that 24 hours" Frank replies "This is what Gerard did to celebrate my birthday" he smiles happily
"aww Gerard that's adorable" Mom says and I blush
"Oh shush mom"
"But you're mom's right Gee, you are pretty adorable" frank says and I blush more
"Stop it" I whine and mom giggles quietly "You two are the cutest couple ever.... speaking of couples have you talked to Mikey and Ray recently?" Mom asks
"Yeah we literally just talked to them before coming over here" I say and she nods "I haven't heard from them in months"
"Oh i'll make sure Mikes gets in touch"
"Ok Gerard.... are you boys hungry? Do you guys need anything?"
"No mom I think we're good" I say and Frank nods in agreement
"Are you guys sure?"
"Yes mom we're sure"
"Ok Gerard" We hang out at my parent's house before we have to leave. It's now 5:30 and I look at Frank.
"Should we go to your mom's house?" I ask him softly and he nods. A story about Frank's mom, before she knew Frank and I were dating she loved having us around, even for a little while after we started dating because she didn't know, but we soon became more careless with what we said/did in front of her and she found out. She wasn't upset at first but soon Frank's dad found out and shit started to hit the fan. Frank was kicked out and he hasn't talked to his parents since and that was nearly 2 and a half years ago. Frank and I slowly make our way to Frank's house and when we get there we kind of sit in the car for a minute before stepping out to knock on the door. Frank timidly knocks on the door which is strange due to him always seeming like the bad-ass he is, but the two people that could intimidate him were his parents. Frank's mom opens the door and she gasps when she finds Frank and I standing there on her front steps.
"oh my god Frank it's been so long.... I'm so sorry I haven't talked to you, your dad has made it very hard to try.... I love you so much and i've missed you" She said hugging him before pulling him inside, I follow shyly. Frank smiles softly, "i've missed you too mom, and I understand, I never held it against you.... speaking of dad where is he?" he asks sounding slightly afraid. "He is at work for another half hour" she replies and he nods. They talked and caught up for a while, sharing many laughs but were soon interrupted by Frank's dad barging through the front door.
"Honey I'm home" he calls from the parlor and Frank tenses. His mom gently rubs Frank's arm reassuringly and calls out to Frank's father that we were in the dining area. He marches into the dining area and stops, narrowing his eyes at Frank and I.
"What are the faggots doing here?" he asks sternly.
"the boys just wanted to catch up, said they have some news for us but wanted to wait until you were here to say it"
"Well Boys what do you have to say?" He asks in a mocking tone.
"I uh... uhh, well... Gerar-" Frank was cut off by his father "Well spit it out boy we don't have all night"
"GerardandIaregettingmarried" he says quickly and softly, as a result no one understood what he had said.
"what did you say Frank?" his mother asks sweetly earning a small smile from Frank.
"Gerard and I are getting married" he says with confidence this time and his mother smiles, cheering softly, his father seething with anger.
"You're what?!" He nearly shouts.
"you heard me, Gerard and I are getting married and there is nothing you can do about it, if you don't like it you don't have to come to the wedding, but mom is more than welcome to come if she wants." Frank speaks with confidence and his mother looks shocked, his dad no less, if not more shocked than his mom. Frank's dad just nods in surprise at his son's newfound confidence. Frank's mother smiles and hugs Frank and I, "Congratulations you two, I honestly couldn't think of a better pair" she says almost sing-songy. Frank and I smile thanking her, his dad just standing there quietly. Frank's mom freaks out when she sees the ring, acting as if she had seen the most perfect thing in the world. After a while of questions and congratulations from Frank's mom and an eventual 'acceptance' (if you could call it that) from his dad we were off back home.
