Annabelle

7 weeks pregnant

It's December which means my semester is almost over. I had finals this week so I'm just waiting on my scores and I'll be graduating soon. The house Angelo built in California is ready and we'll be there for a while until I'm ready to move to New York. He said that the California home can be another vacation home if I want, which makes me wonder how many vacation houses this man has.
We still haven't put up the Christmas tree so that's another task that needs to get done.

I've been complaining to myself lately because I wanted to set up the day after we left his family's home and that was a while ago. I like to decorate as soon as November hits. To me, Christmas season starts November 1st. Angelo explained to me a million times that they don't decorate that early in Italy.

He's been working more than usual so I cut him some slack but I really want to set it up today.
Christmas is in 2 weeks and I want to make sure the tree is up before Christmas Day.

We've decided to invite both of our families over for Christmas, of course my parents would have to fly over here, but Angelo said he's sending his private jet over there to bring them here, which I'm thankful for.

I'm in the living room watching some Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate. One thing I'm happy about is that I can hold down more foods than I did a few weeks ago.
"Miss?" I heard someone say behind me.

I jumped not expecting someone else to be in here.
I turn around and I see Isabella behind me.

I haven't seen her for a while and when I do she's cleaning.

"Yeah Issy" I said.
Her face kind of lit up when I said that.
"Would you like something to eat." She asked slowly.

"I'm fine, I filled up on snacks." I told her patting my stomach.

She nodded and left probably going home.

It's crazy how I often forget how much staff this man has.

Yet, it always feels so empty inside this house.
I sigh and get up from the couch.

"Fuck" I groan feeling an ache in my stomach.
I rub it.
Probably all of that junk I ate.

Not feeling like I could make it upstairs, I pick a guest bedroom on the first floor and went to the bed.
I turned on the tv since that's all I do these days.

After about an hour of watching tv and a few cramps I get bored.

Maybe a nap would help...

It's about 3:00 why not?

I find a comfortable position on my side and close my eyes.
----------

A sharp pain woke me up out of my sleep.

Groaning I sit up holding my stomach.
What the fuck is that?!
I cry out as another pain hit.

The door opens.
"There you are! I've been looking all over for you! Are you ok?"Angelo exclaimed running over to me and embracing me in one of his warm hugs.

"I'm ok sorry I just didn't have enough energy to go upstairs." I told him pulling back from the hug.
"What's wrong?" He asks concerned.
"I keep getting these sharp pains in my lower stomach and I don't know what's causing it" I said feeling another one.

"Come on I'm taking you to the hospital." He said clenching his jaw.

I feel like I blinked and we were in the car on our way to the hospital.

Angelo is gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles are turning pale.
I put my hand on his. "Calm down" I told him.
He relaxed a little only a little.

He grabbed my hand and kissed it. I smiled.

"I just need you two to be ok" he said and I saw his jaw tick again.
"We'll be fine I'm sure it's nothing." I reassured him.

Soon enough we arrived at the hospital.
He parked in front of emergency section and got out the car.
He came to the other side while I was taking my seat belt off and opened the door for me.

After helping me out the car then locking it, he walked me to the door.

We walked up to the front desk and Angelo went directly to one of the people sitting there.
"We need to see Dr.Giovanni now." He demanded.
How the hell did he know that was my doctor, or did I tell him before?

"I'm sorry sir do you have an appointment?" The woman said with a heavy accent.
I thought this was emergency.

"Well no considering this is an E.R and people usually come here when there is an emergency." Angelo said sarcastically.

The woman looked embarrassed for a second before typing something on the computer.

"Dr.Giovanni is available at the moment if you would follow me." She said.

We followed her to the elevator and she took us up to the next floor.
After turning a few corners she took us to a room.
"She will be in right away." She said then closed the door.

I sighed.
Angelo lifted me up and put me on the plastic bed.
I wrap my arms around his neck and pecked him on the lips.
"Everything will be fine." I told him noticing he was still tense.
He grabbed my waist and gave me another kiss.
This one much longer.
We heard a throat clear and I pushed him away so I could look.
"So I'm assuming this is the father?" She asked.

I nodded a little flushed.
Angelo smirks and sits down in the chair by the bed.

"So what seems to be the problem today?" She asks.
"I've been gettin sharp pains in my lower stomach lately and I don't know what's causing it." I told her.

"Ah let's see, lay back for me." She told me.

She ran an ultrasound and did some other tests and the whole time Angelo stares at the screen with a serious look on his face.
I knew he was just curious though.
"The babies are fine, the pain was just from your uterus expanding which is common during the early stages of pregnancy. I recommend not being on your feet for too long and just try to rest a little more." She said.

From the corner of my eye I see Angelo relax.

I'll save him the "I told you so" since he was just being a concerned father.

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

"No problem, and while we're here I just want to remind you that your appointment is the beginning of next month." She said.

I nodded.
After that we left the hospital.

"Angelo?" I said breaking the silence in the car.

"Yes baby?" He said eyes still on the road.

"We still haven't set up the tree when are we going to do that?" I asked him.
There aren't even decorations on the house or inside the house. It's just depressing considering it's Christmas season and I'm in the Christmas spirit.

"We'll do it tomorrow sweetheart but right now you have to rest." He said.
Finally.
