"How are you liking it here so far?" I asked Tara eating my fourth cookie.

If there's one thing my babies and I can agree on it's our love for chocolate chip cookies. Anything else can fuck off.

"I like it here, much better than where I used to live." She said taking a sip of her coffee.

"Where are from again?" I asked.
"New York City" She said.

"Was it bad living there or something?" I asked.
"No it was just too busy for my liking." She said. I nod understanding, after all I used to live there. Well not exactly New York City, but I always went there to do some shopping. My family moved to New York when I started high school. We were originally from Michigan.

"Hey after this wanna go shopping or something?" She asked.
"Hmm... sure I need to get some more maternity clothes anyway." I told her.

I only bought a few things last time I went shopping. "Just let me get some more cookies." I said and got up. She have me an amused look.

"What?" I asked her.

"You must really love cookies." She said smiling.
"Uh, yeah?" I said in a duh tone.

She laughed as I walked back up to the lady at the register to buy some more.

After I got my cookies I looked around for Rico knowing he was somewhere around here.

"Miss?" I heard him say from behind me. I jumped and turned to look at him.
Why does this always happen?

"You startled me... again." I scolded him. I saw the corner of his lips lift up a little as if he wanted to smile.

"My apologies miss." He said.

"It fine, I guess... We're actually leaving soon to go shopping and I was just looking for you." I told him.

He looked back at Tara and furrowed his eyebrows. I could visibly see his face harden behind the shades he wore.

"Everything ok?" I asked him.

"Just be careful miss." He tells me and walks away, out of the shop, probably going to the car.

I walk back to Tara who's throwing away her cup.
"Ready?" I ask her. She nods. "Who was that?" She asked. "Family friend." I simply said.

My phone vibrates in my purse and I take it out to see my sister calling.
I answer the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey do you mind if I come over today?" She asked. They were here for the week and staying in the same hotel as last time. Charlotte was on mid-winter break and would be returning to school next week.
"Yeah sure I'll pick you up." I told her.
I put my phone back in my purse.
"Do you mind meeting me at the mall, I have to go pick my sister up and it's right around the corner from where she's at. You don't mind her coming along do you?" I asked.

"Oh not at all, see you there." She said and left.
