Marco's fever has been letting up. He takes his medicine every four hours. He's warmed up to us. Angelo does everything in his power to make him feel comfortable.
He bought what counts for a lifetime supply of snacks and a few movies Marco said he wanted to watch and we had a movie night last night.
We're still not sure what to do with him. If we wanted to adopt him as his legal guardians his parents have to sign away their parental rights to him.
Either way it go CPS is going to be involved and It doesn't really seem right to leave him to CPS when all they're going to do is dump him in an orphanage when we're more than capable of taking care of him.
That is if he wants to stay, I'm not going to make that decision for him.
"Annabelle?" I heard Marco behind me.
I turn around and look at him.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Umm, where's Angelo ." He asks with puppy eyes.
"He's in a meeting right now it should be over soon and when he comes back we'll get you some clothes." I told him, his mood brightens, he nods and run back to the game room, his favorite room.
We haven't been able to shop for him since he's been sick and it wasn't such a good idea to take him out in that heat with his fever but he's okay for now. I'm sure he's tired of sleeping in Angelo's T-shirts.
We still have about 4 days until we leave Florida. I have a feeling this isn't really a vacation but more of a mission for Angelo but I'm still going to make the most of it.
With Marco as well.
About 2 hours later Angelo walks in with an envelope in his hand looking happy.
"Hey sweetheart." He said kissing
"Hey, what's that?" I asked him.
He opens the envelope and pulls out some paper and hand them to me.
"See for yourself." He said.
I look through the papers and they're adoption papers.
I gasp.
"How?" I asks him.
"Don't worry about that." He said smiling.
"So we can adopt him legally?" I said surprised.
"Yes now where's Marco I want to deliver the good news to him." He asked.
"In the game room, he's been asking about you so he'll be happy to see you." I told him. He nodded and walked towards the game room.
I followed him.
We walked into the game room and saw Marco playing on the PlayStation. Looks like he's playing FNAF. He's been playing a lot of video games lately since it doesn't require much movement. We don't want him moving his arm too much with that cast.
He turned around when he heard us coming towards him.
"Hey Angelo!" He yelled and ran over here, after pausing his game.
He hugged his legs.
We all walked over to the couch in the room and sat down.
"How would you feel if we adopted you?" He asked him.
He cocked his head and furrowed his eyebrows.
"You mean be my mommy and daddy?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Like my other mommy and daddy?" He asked.
"No." Angelo said sternly. I could tell that question got to him.
"We're not like your other parents ." I told him.
He looked at me then at my stomach.
"What about them?" He asked.
"They would be your brother and sister." Angelo told him.
"Ok!" He exclaimed smiling.
"Great! We'll fill out the paper work and I'll send it in to get approved." Angelo said more towards me then Marco.
"Ok." I said and Marco hugged me.
"So I call you mama and papa now?" He asked.
"Whatever makes you comfortable."
"Yes"
Angelo and I said at the same time.
I looked at him and he shrugged.
"Ok mama." Marco said happily.
"We need to get you some clothes, but you have to take your medicine first." I told him.
He nodded and went back to his game.
"Come on let's fill these out ." Angelo said helping me off the couch.
