We are okay

Gavin panicked. He quickly felt Ray's chest. It rose and fell in an unsteady pattern, his breaths short. Gavin tied his shirt around Ray's shoulder to stop the blood flow. Gavin put Ray against a tree and wandered a few feet away. He heard rushing water. As Gavin pushed past a few branches, he saw a running stream. Gavin ran back to Ray, flying him over to the stream. He dipped his fingers in the water, cleaning out Ray's cuts. Gavin almost passed out when he saw the knife sticking out of Ray's leg. Gavin tried to gently pull it out, but it was wedged in. Ray groaned and came to as Gavin tugged a bit harder. "Gav, that hurts." Ray whispered. "I know Ray. But we need to get the knife out." Gavin said, kissing Ray's cheek. "I know." Gavin yanked hard, getting the knife out and Ray bit back screams. Gavin looked at Ray, giving him an apologetic smile. Ray stared back up at Gavin. He leaned his head down. Ray leaned his head up and their lips collided. Ray was propped up on his elbows and Gavin tangled his fingers in Ray's dark hair. They kissed passionately, not a care in the world. Ray pulled away and Gavin traced the scar on his face. Ray smiled. "Hey Gav?" "Yeah?" "We're okay." They were two words, two simple words, yet they made Gavin swell up with happiness. He kissed Ray again, whispering, "I know Ray. We are gonna be okay." Ray nodded, and Gavin lay gently on his chest. Ray wrapped his good arm around him, pulling Gavin closer. As the sun began to set, and the sky began to change, Ray sang.

The dawn is breaking

A light shining through

You're barely waking

And I'm tangled up in you

Yeah

But I'm open, you're closed

Where I follow, you'll go

I worry I won't see your face

Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes

Even the wrong words seem to rhyme

Out of the doubt that fills my mind

I somehow find

You and I collide

I'm quiet you know

You make a first impression

Well, I've found I'm scared to know

I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes

Even the stars refuse to shine

Out of the back you fall in time

I somehow find

You and I collide

Don't stop here

I lost my place

I'm close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes

Even the wrong words seem to rhyme

Out of the doubt that fills your mind

You finally find

You and I collide

You finally find

You and I collide

You finally find

You and I collide

Gavin listened to Ray's soothing voice, carrying him off to his dreams. "I love you." He mumbled, falling into a peaceful slumber.
