Patrick looked through every single content of his closet over and over again. He couldn't decide what to wear. What was he supposed to wear? He was going to "slick lessons." Does that mean formal wear? Casual wear? For fucks sake, does that mean swim wear? Should he wear what Pete would like? Why does everything have to be so confusing?

In the end, he settled on wearing a little bit of everything. He removed his boxers and put on swim trunks in place of them. He wore khaki shorts and nice t-shirt with a clean sweatshirt on top of it. It's called wearing layers, if he got it wrong, he could just remove a layer. He- of course- finished the look with his signature fedora. The only reason that the fedora would ever be removed would be if in fact, he was right about swim wear. They were going to a coffee shop, so the chances of needing swim wear would be very slim, unless there was going to be a pool filled with coffee or some shit.

He pulled out his phone and checked the time. sHIT. He needed to get going or he would be late. Patrick knew very well that Pete hated people being late, even though Pete ended up being late to pretty much everything he went to. One of Pete's many little flaws that made him even more perfect. What do you mean that's flawed logic? "Flawed logic." Oh wordplay.

He rushed out the door and hopped on the bus. One of the perks of being Pete's stalker was memorizing the bus schedule, because Pete rides the bus a lot. Not that he needs to, he has a car. He knows everything about Pete except for the way his thought process works. Pete's ideology is to ride the bus even though he owns frankly a very nice car. Patrick can't figure that out, but he doesn't need to. He doesn't care about why Pete does it, all he cares about is that he does do it and that it's absolutely perfect.

He arrived at the coffee shop about five minutes before their "slick lessons" were supposed to occur. He found a nice table in the corner of the room. He was about to sit down when he noticed Pete waving him over from the other side of the shop. Pete was early?! What a rarity. Not that Patrick was complaining. It was a good feeling knowing that he was the reason for Pete breaking one of the fundamental laws of the universe.

"Hey," Patrick said with a warm smile.

"Bonjour," Pete responded with laughter written all over his face. Patrick couldn't tell if Pete was laughing at him or at his own greeting in another language. Patrick rolled his eyes and examined what Pete was wearing.

Casual wear, sweatshirt was a good idea, he noted to himself.

"So, how long have you been here? I feel bad about making you wait," Patrick said with an awkward tone of voice.

"I actually just got here, don't feel bad," the other male answered. There was something off about his tone of voice. It wasn't awkward like his own, Pete was never awkward. It sounded a bit like a lie. Had he been here longer than a few minutes? Why would he feel the need to lie about something as simple as that? The only somewhat logical reason Patrick could come up with was that he had actually been here for a very long time. Probably a few hours, possibly the whole day.

"That right there, is your first lesson in being slick," Pete interrupted Patrick's thoughts. Patrick merely responded with a confused glance.

"You picked up on that lie pretty quickly. I'm pretty known for being unreadable, the fact that you figured it out that quickly tells me that you're already familiar with me." Patrick just stared at him dumbfounded.

"Consider your first class in slick school to be, 'Covering Your tracks 101.'"

An update, what is this? How is this even possible? Answer to that is that I was doing my geometry homework and I was sick of writing proofs. I needed a break, so I decided to come update. This doesn't mean it will be actively updated, just means that I'll do it if I'm really bored. Anyways, leaving it at a cliffhanger for another three months. Is anyone surprised at Pete knowing about Patrick? I tried to hint at it but not make it blatantly obvious. I haven't done much foreshadowing and want some feedback. k
