The party was long over. The only people left, were me, Commander, Mason Langston, and a few trainers who would be running my exercise today. I told them to be extra harsh, to prove that I had what it takes to Mason. The fact that he decided to stay, tells me he's really serious about this.
I was no longer wearing the tight black dress. There's no way I would've been able to train in it anyways! I would probably rip it, and then my mom would KILL me! Okay, off topic.
My hair was still curled, but now it was pulled back into a long, curly pony tail. I was wearing a pair of black sweatpants and a plain, white tank top. I was in the corner of the large training room, stretching because I didn't want to pull anything during today's exercise. Imagine what Mason would think!!
"Coleson. Are you ready?" Matt yelled across the room. Matt was one of the better trainers, with jet black hair and hazel eyes. He was really buff, and extremely smart when it came to fighting. He would be tough competition, but he's nothing I can't handle.
"Yeah. Are you?" I asked, with a smirk. He smiled and rolled his eyes.
"Some things never change." He said, jokingly. He got the other few guys set up in their respective corners. I stepped onto the mat and stretched my arms one more time. I quickly glance over to the chairs against the walls where Mason was sitting. He had his arms crossed and looked questioningly at me. His brown eyes were scrunched up and his eyebrows were furrowed. I laughed to myself, seeing how focused Mason was. He was cute when he focused... Wait what? Did I seriously just think that?
"Let's go." I said, trying to shake the thoughts from my mind. The trainers looked at one another, and then all ran towards me at once. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I needed to get into my zone. My eyes quickly snapped open and I released a punch into the first attacker's abdomen. He stumbled backwards and held his injured gut.
I turned to my right to see Matt trying to kick me in the head. I luckily bent down quick enough to dodge the kick, and attempted to punch his face. He leaned back, making me miss. He grabbed my arm, and I kicked his side, making him release it. He then swung his arm towards my stomach, and I grabbed it. A scared looked flashed across Matt's face as I smirked. It was my signature move. I flipped him easily onto his back. He hit the mat with a loud thud. I pretended to dust of my hands, the smirk never leaving my face.
I turned around, to see two more trainers on my right and left, running towards me at full speed. They make this too easy. I simply stepped back, and let them run into each other. They landed in a tangled heap on the ground, groaning in pain. I laughed really hard at their stupidity.
Suddenly, I felt someone jump onto my back. I stumbled a little, but quickly regained my balance. An idea popped into my head, and I smiled evilly. I backed up a little, and then did a forward roll on the ground, crushing my attacker in the process. He was laying flat on his back in obvious pain.
"Is that all you got?" I asked them all, laughing. I was answered with a series of groans. I turned to look at Mason who was staring with his mouth wide open. He looked stunned at what he just saw.
"That was... Wow." Mason said, standing up and shoving his hands into the pockets of his dress pants. He was still wearing the clothes from the dance, and he looked really handsome. I hate to admit it, but he was just a really cute person. I couldn't wait to truly get to know him... Oh my gosh! Stop it! That's a big no no! No fraternizing with the clients. It's a very specific rule. No relationships. I sighed, just thinking about it.
"So...?" I asked, slowly walking towards him. He shrugged.
"Yeah. I guess you can be our body guard." He said, nonchalantly. I laughed lightly.
"Okay. I'm going to go talk to my trainers quick. You can gather your stuff and then we'll head out." I told him. He nodded, and brushed a few strands of his brown hair out of his face. This was going to be harder than I thought...
"Well done, Coleson." Ryan complimented. He was another trainer who was working with me today. I punched him first.
"Thanks. You're not so bad yourself. Next time, approach me from behind and punch with your left, instead of your right." I said, giving him a quick tip.
"Huh. Thanks!" He said, realizing that I was right. I continued walking towards where Matt was standing.
"How was that?" I asked him, already knowing the answer.
"Well played, Coleson. Well played." He said, making me laugh.
"Thanks." I said, smiling. I was proud of my quick thinking. The entire fight lasted less than 5 minutes. It literally gave me a split second to react to my attackers.
"Who was that guy who was watching?" Matt asked, bringing me back to reality.
"Huh? Oh, Mason? I'm supposed to be their body guard now." I told Matt.
"Mhm. JUST a body guard?" He asked, smirking. What is he talking about?
"Yes...?" I said, confused. He wiggled his eyebrows, and I realized what he was saying. "What?! No!" I said, defensively.
"Mhm. Okay." He said, winking. He walked towards the locker rooms to change, leaving me to ponder what he had just said. I just met Mason! Sure, he's cute, but he's just a client. There's NOTHING going on between us two.
I tried to shake off my thoughts as I walked into the girls' locker rooms. I grabbed my dress out of my locker and folded it up. I slipped it into my purse and then grabbed my leather jacket off of the hook, and slid my arms into the familiar sleeves. I shoved my heels into my purse, turned the lights off, and then walked out into the commons. Mason was standing there, looking at something on his iPhone. When he realized I was standing there, he quickly shoved it into his pocket. "Are you ready to go?" I asked him.
"Yep." He said, looking me straight in the eyes. It feels like he could see past my eyes and into my brain. Was he reading my mind? I quickly looked away, and blushed. If he COULD read my mind, that would be REALLY embarrassing.
I started walking towards the doors, and I could hear his footsteps, confirming that he was following. I pushed open the doors and walked straight to my motorcycle. There's only one problem... I only had one helmet.
When we reached the motorcycle, I knew what to do. I grabbed the helmet off of the hook and tossed it to Mason. He raised his eyebrows, questioningly.
"Shouldn't you be wearing this?" He asked me.
"Nope. I'm your body guard, remember?" I said, smirking. He laughed a little, and then slid the helmet on. I hopped onto the motorcycle and started it up. Mason looked unsure, but he eventually slid on behind me.
"Uhm..." He said, awkwardly.
"You have to hold on." I told him. Okay, this was going to be awkward. He wrapped his arms around my torso, but he was still barely hanging on. I lifted the kickstand and then we were off. He tightened his grip on me, once we got on to the highway. The ride was silent, as we watched the bright lights flash by. Surprisingly, it wasn't an awkward silence. It was... Comfortable.
"I live on Lions Drive." He told me as we approached a stop light. I nodded to show him I understood. When the light turned green, I drove off again. I looked to my right, and saw a sign that said 'Lions Drive' on it. I quickly turned, and entered the neighborhood. All of the houses looked really different. Some were white, some were grey, some were yellow, and some were even blue. They all had a different shape to them, making them all really original.
"That one, up ahead." Mason said, pointing to a large, white house. I pulled into their driveway, and stopped the engine.
We sat there for a moment, not moving. I think we were both enjoying each other's company. Mason eventually hopped off of the motorcycle, and handed me the helmet.
"Thanks for the ride." He said, smiling.
"No problem." I said, smiling back. "So, when do you want me to start?" He thought for a moment, and then replied.
"Well as soon as possible. Tomorrow?" He asked. Already?! Wow.
"Um, sure." I said, giving in. I had no other plans anyways.
"Great! I'll see ya then." He said, and with that, he walked up to the door and disappeared inside.
I sat there, stuck in a daydream. Mason was actually really cool. Not to mention really cute. I didn't know how I would be able to keep it professional. We'll just have to wait and see.
