Pic of the baby room place
It was an unknown date that Nathan was born. Although it was colder than the Artic and snow was laid in sheets on the floor and on roofs, no one was sure.
"We might as well choose a date in winter then now shouldn't we, Nathan?" his mother called. This was agreed for by the baby with gurgles of laughter.
"How does... December 5th sound? Or how about January 25th? Maybe even to a stretch, September 15th?" Claps were heard for January 25th so that was the day they decided.
"What a lovely name and birthday for a lovely child," said his father, "And what deep brown eyes you have."
"Oscar, prepare a bed of silk and fine linen in a crib for my son," Father called out.
"Right away, sir," Oscar called back as he scurried off. He wasn't very fast as he was only 9 but always did his best.
"Now, Nathan how about you spend some time with your father, hmm?" Father politely took Nathan from his mother and twirled him around a bit.
"You, son, will make a great man someday," His father whispered to him as Nathan smiled again at his father.

"Papa, papa look it's a flower. And it's blue!" Nathan called out. He twirled around in the open hay field and laughed. "It's like the one we saw in France," He yelled again. His father ran to his 9-year-old son and picked him up from his waist.
"What great memory you have, Nathan. In French, it is une fleur bleue,"
"Une fleur bleue," Nathan repeated.
"Très bien, mon fils," he laughed. Nathan loved it when his father laughed. His grin would go from ear to ear.
Oh how happy they were. They would play together, sing and dance. Every night, Father would sing to Nathan but it was different one day it was different. A thud was heard shake on the ground mightier than an earthquake. Unwell and sick, Father shivered on the floor. Everything was taking a turn for worse.
---------------
The day Nathan was allowed to see his father, he ran into his arms and cried deeply and sorrowfully.
"Papa, you can't leave us. You can't leave me," He teared up again.
"Now you listen and listen to me well: when I'm gone, look after your mother for me. And remember,"
"Have courage and be kind," they said in unison.
"But how can I be courageous if you're not here,"
"Nathan, I'm always here." Nathan's forehead leaned on his father's.
"Have courage and be kind," Father whispered again.
