*pic of what I imagine Sebastian to look like (no relation to this chapter but #YOLO)*
As he laid in his bed that night, Nathan looked around. For some reason, his father dying made him feel as if security had left. He wasn't used to this sort of thing. This sort of loss in the family. That's when he felt tears streaming down his eyes, remembering that day.
...........
"F-father, t-they hurt me," Nathan yelled at his father, trying to hold back his tears.
"I know your trying to be strong," his father started, "but sometimes you have to let it out." He placed his large arms around Nathan, allowing Nathan sob his eyes out on his shoulder.
...........
"Sir, are you alright?" Oscar knocked on his door. Nathan didn't even notice that he was crying out loud.
"Y-yeah. I'm... fine," he choked out.
"Would you like me to come in?"
"...No, thank you. You should go back to bed, Oscar," Nathan breathed.
"Yes, sir." As Nathan heard Oscar's footsteps fade away, he felt much more alone.
"Tomorrow will be a better day," he whispered to himself.

As they sat at the breakfast table, Nathan's mother ate and Nathan picked at his food. He wasn't hungry. 'If I'm not hungry, then I haven't hungry for the past three days,' he laughed internally. He flicked back to reality when he heard his mother place her fork down.
"Nathan," she said, letting out a cough afterwards to make sure she had his full attention. "I need to tell you something but you must promise not to get angry."
"Yes, mother," Nathan simply replied.
"I've been thinking. It's been a while since your father died and... I think it's time I remarry." Nathan froze. The thought of marriage meant nothing to him anymore. "Now, I know you might be against it but there are some things I just can't teach you as a woman." Nathan exhaled as he formed a logical answer in his head.
"If that is what's best for us. But of course, you know, you need to find someone."
"A lord, Lord Tremaine to be exact, has recently lost his wife and has put his interest to me and..."
"And?" Nathan filled the pause. He hated pauses because he always felt as if everything was going to go wrong.
"His sons already see me as a mother," she sighed.
"I don't mind whatever is decided for us. It's what's best that is the priority," Nathan replied. "Excuse me." He got up from his seat and left for his room.
'How do I feel?' Nathan asked himself as he plodded up the stairs. 'More importantly, how should I feel?'
I am actually really sorry about having no update for a while. There was Christmas and church and stuff. To make it up to everyone, the next chapter (hopefully coming out by next week) will be a christmassy Sebastian update. There will be chapter 2 trauma flash backs but some of Nathan story as well.
Comment, vote, like and have a great New Year.
