Dear Selina,
Would you still love me if you knew?
AlexThirty.
Thirty was the number of unsent letters I had written to Selina, begging her to love me even if... if what? She didn't have television. She had no way to know that I had been lying the whole time. She had no way of knowing that the only thing I hadn't lied about was loving her.
The rest of the world would know soon. Special Agent Alex, royally fucking up the last assignment they would ever have.
The agency, of course, was outraged that an agent of theirs would shoot an 'innocent' civilian, and I had had to pretty much fight God Himself to get myself out of trouble. Even after that, they had to let me go. Granted, I still got a generous retirement fund and was seen off as a hero, but when the public found out that I shot their idol, miss Stelara Ford, the agency would have hell to pay.
Not that I'd been watching the episodes. Only two had come out so far, and the third was tonight.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door.
"It's open, come on in," I called.
Nate did not hesitate to do exactly that, bustling in with his arms overflowing with bottles of alcohol and food.
"Hey bitch," he greeted me warmly, placing his bribes on the coffee table before plopping down on the couch next to me. "So... how's life?"
I grimaced. "What are you doing?"
"I'm here to watch your show with you, what do you think?" He rolled his eyes and smiled.
"Absolutely not. You know I said I wouldn't."
Pursing his lips, he busied himself with opening an expensive looking bottle of wine. "Oh no, the wine's already open. I can't go now. Darn."
Why do I keep my door unlocked?
"Nate, I really don't want to," I groaned, knowing that my complaint would be received by deaf ears.
"I'm so excited for this."
Traitorously, the tv flickered to life, as if it hadn't been out of order for months.
"TRUE LOOOVEEE, TRUE LOVE, TRUE LOVEEEEE!" The theme song roared.
"We had the best lyricist ever," I muttered sarcastically. Nate ignored me.
"Last time on Chanced..." the screen shifts to a clip of Jason and the devil alone on the porch.
"Ermagerd, you lied to me?!?!" I mimicked, matching Jason's hand movements with my own "slightly" exaggerated ones.
"Buh- buh- I love you!" Nate joins in, mocking Stelara perfectly.
"Nice one."
"I know. Now shut up."
We watched in silence as the girls went about their early morning before the screen transitioned to a clear picture of an early Selina smiling nervously yet flirtatiously into the camera. I had just asked her if she had her eyes on 'anyone' yet. Of course, they cut my voice out, as always. Not that I was complaining.
"Yeah, I definitely think that Jason is cute. And..." she hesitated.
"And there's someone else here that's been stuck in my head lately," I whispered, in perfect sync with the onscreen Selina. Those words had kept me up all night. If only I'd known what they would lead to.
Suddenly, my phone began to vibrate nonstop.
"Huh?" I opened it up to reveal a nonstop stream of messages from BlueBird.
"Oh, I added you to the Chanced conversation. Hope that's okay," Nate smirked.
Sighing, I began scrolling through some of the messages.
'OMG. Stelara is a major biotch! @ AnnaAnsley, how did you deal w being roomies for so long??'
I snorted to myself. Asking the real questions.
"@ AlexReyes, what was it like filming all of the confessionals?"
Side-glancing Nate, I typed out a hasty reply.
"@ NateBrie, with much patience and a little bit of alcohol."
Stelara's scratchy, awful voice snapped my attention back to the television.
"I can hear her voice from a mile away. She's a big gossip."
'Strong words from such a backwards character," I wrote angrily, pressing the send button without second thought.
"Wow, are you sure that you want to be that harsh? The fans are going to jump on you."
"Right now they hate her almost as much as I do. They'll be fine."
Immediately, I got a flood of replies.
'Aren't u the camera person? U r so right tho!! I f***ing hate that girl.'
'So true. I will gladly follow any1 who hates her as much as I do rn.'
Sure enough, my inbox was flooded with new followers.
"Keep it up and you'll be famous," Nate commented. I smiled.
"Good."
