Dear Alex,
What the hell are you doing?
Stelara"Are you sure you want to do this?" Roza questions, her manicured finger hovering over the power button.
"Positive. I got myself into this, I'm not letting my family's name get dragged through the mud."
She snorts. "Our name's been through a lot, we can take it."
I shake my head firmly. "Maybe we can, but our name's connected to dad's. He doesn't deserve this."
Her hands twist around her jet black hair nervously. "Well, if you're sure..."
"I'm sure."
Finally, she turns the television on. We're almost ten minutes late, but we haven't missed much.
"I know enough," an onscreen, younger version of me retorts. "I know that you hug your pillow in your sleep because you're so lonely. I know that you're too scared to go out on the balcony with Jason because you're afraid of heights. I know enough, Anna Rosalyn Ansley."
The camera focuses on a stunned Anna.
"Wait, how does she know all this stuff? Did I choose a creep as my roommate?" She questions, now in confessional.
"Just a great job, Stel. Definitely didn't scare anyone there," Orabella spits, joining us on the couch.
"Stuff it," I grumble, scanning over the hundreds of comments flooding in.
""Stelara is such a creep! If I were Anna I'd be out of there so quick!"" I read.
"It's okay, Stel, they'll warm up to you," Roza smiles. "But maybe now isn't a good time to start commenting. I doubt you have a good excuse for this."
I don't.
"Psh... whatever."
We watch in silence as Jason makes the deal with me- @ Chanced4evr69420 calls it "tacky and disgusting" that Jason would mess with "such a lowlife"-and Adaeze calls out the date card until finally, my painful moment of redemption comes.
The camera pans in on a barely visible pair of roommates talking in the 'privacy' of their room, somehow picking up everything they're saying.
"Everyone hates me," Anna claims.
"I don't hate u, Ana," Tree.hoe.forever types.
"That's not true. Sure, people might be jealous of your beauty, but no one here hates you," television me comforts her.
The tv continues on, but on BlueBird, there's radio silence.
"Oh, of course no one has anything to say now," I spit bitterly.
Suddenly, we're at the pool and I'm teaching Anna how to swim.
"Ohh I get it now Stelara's a LESBIAN," @ krunglefuck6200 says.
Revealing my sexuality would be revealing a major plot twist, so I have to stay silent.
"Anna and Stelara would make such a cute couple!" @ Rosebeautiful says.
I side glance Rozabela.
"What? It can't hurt to have an 'unbiased' source cheering you on," she shrugs, a devilish smile playing on her lips. "Besides, it's true."
"Thanks, I think so too ;)" I reply, internally cringing.
Immediately, replies and retweets come flooding in.
"OMG is that Stelara?!?!"
"Probably a fake account guys chill"
"CONFIRMED ITS ACTUALLY HER OTP OTP OTP"
"Still hate Stelara, like y'all are literally only shipping them bc they're both girls. Get ur gay representation from some1 else who isn't super rude lol"
"ANY1 WHO SHIPS STELARA AND ANNA WILL BE UNFOLLOWED AND BLOCKED OK"
"STANNAAAAAA"
I blink. "That's... a lot to take in."
The episode ends with Anna putting her hand on my cheek before making a quick exit.
"NEXT TIME ON CHANCED!" The announcer's voice boomed, showing a quick clip of the next episode.
"Pretty good for day one," Roza smiles.
I nod, but inside I know we're no closer to the end goal than we were before.
