I stirred in the super soft bed and pulled the thick green blanket tighter around me as I snuggled into whatever warmth was radiating beside me. I was practically laying on top of it as I found my eyes growing heavier in the dark, still too early to be awake, and allowed sleep to wash over me once more.
When I did finally decide to wake up, light filled the room, casting a beautiful glow against the dark red walls. The room was beautiful when the sun was shining through.
I stretched my arms and limbs out against the bed before swinging my feet over the edge and and placing them flat on one of the furry rugs. They carried me to the large window that was against the side of the room and gazed out. I caught a glimpse of Elijah standing in dark blue jeans and a new gray sweater, talking with some other men while children, women and other men, walked around between houses and some entering the forest.
I turned on my heels and walked into the bathroom to relieve myself before staring at myself in the mirror. There was a brush against the counter so I used it quickly to brush out my tangled hair to somewhat tame it. Taking the opportunity as well, I found a tooth brush and gave my mouth a good cleaning before spitting into the sink and rinsing it out.
There was a new pile of clothes placed on the chair that sat in the corner by the window with a piece of paper on top of it.
'For Faith - Jess'
I placed the note onto the counter before grabbing the top piece of clothing and looking it at. I tossed my clothes into a new basket that had other clothes in it before tugging on a fresh pair of underwear and the light blue jeans that Jess had left. They were tight and hugged my legs well before I tugged on the gray shirt that was underneath. Surprisingly they both fit well for my figure without know what size I was.
When I was finished I made my way down the steps and out the front door to find Elijah. I had no idea what I was suppose to do now that I was free from that man.
Maybe Elijah knew.
The sun was nowhere to be found like it was earlier as I glimpsed up at the now cloud covered sky. The air was cold causing me to wrap my arms around myself and my bare feet to feel chilly. Gazing around I stared up at Elijah's house.
Trees surrounded and loomed over his house beautifully, showing off their many colors of green, orange and red. It added color to the logged cabin home as some of the windows that covered the building casted out a glow from lights being turned on. The size of his home was huge and I still wasn't able to get over the size, even though I've only seen a few selected rooms.
I made a mental note to explore the house when I had a chance.
The path from the front door that was simply stoned, led to a cemented patch on the ground, where a few vehicles were parked. Although there was no road in sight other than dirt tracks that looked to be from cars travelling, it led down towards other way smaller homes that lined either side of the path in both directions.
To my right though was the huge open area that stretched out before it hit the forest. I assumed that, other than the large amounts of trees that were randomly placed, it wrapped around behind his house as well, allowing for the large opening to accompany the gigantic amount of people that it could.
My chilled bare feet carried me off the stone path, that also led to the back of the house, and on to the cool green grass that stretched beyond it. I found myself rounding his house and catching the window of his room that I was at only a short while ago, finding the man with blue eyes off in the distance, still chatting in a group with older men.
I was still shocked at how the majority of the people who wandered around the opening were able to bare the chilly air with nothing but a shirt and a pair of shorts. Some men, opting for no shirt and everyone seeming to avoid any sort of protection for their feet what so ever. I didn't understand how they weren't shivering like I was currently was.
