Chapter 13 Part 2 - Hero Party Selection

The heroes joined the meal afterward and the breakfast was filled with awkward atmosphere. After the breakfast, the heroes gathered at the training ground. There were several formidable individuals joined them as I heard the heroes were going to choose their party members.

"I heard you have made that Pope peed his pants this morning, Ren."

Duventoliel said.

"Don't bother, Elle-sensei. It's not like I did it on purpose. Since I am threatened, I decided to reveal my cards."

I said.

"So, which group you're going to join?"

Duventoliel asked.

"For now, none. I plan to make my own as I have declared that I'm also one of them."

I said.

"Heeh, I wonder what kind of team it would be."

She said.

"Well, firstly I will take Alicia to affirm her safety."

I said.

"Then?"

"Hmm... Maybe I'll look around for a good guy."

I said.

I was called when I was about to leave. A girl with long black hair stood there.

She said.

"What of it?"

I asked.

"Would you like to join my party?"

She pleaded. I suddenly had an urge to help her.

"I'm sorry I'll have to refuse for now."

I replied. I suppressed my urge as I clenched my fist.

"Then, will you be my friend?"

She asked.

I widened my eyes when I saw this warning. I kicked the ground and leaped away.

I managed to avoid being tamed.

"I see, this is no good after all."

Shiina muttered. She wasn't aware that there was another person standing behind her.

I shivered when I saw Alicia was standing behind her. She gave out some dark purplish aura around her. Shiina frowned when she saw my frightened looks.

"Umm... Takayashiki-sama, what did you do to my husband till he jumped that far?"

Alicia asked. Shiina gasped and turned his head toward Alicia.

"It-It's nothing!!"

She said before trying to flee but Alicia caught her wrist. It was quite obvious that Alicia was angry. I looked at my surroundings. The gallery was looking at the two girls. They took some distance from us and made us standing at an empty space beside the crowd of the hero party member candidates.

At the edge of the field, I saw Haruta had managed to gather some members. They consisted of 1 swordsman, 2 knights, 1 archer, and 1 mage. The ponytail hero gathered 4 members consisting of 2 mages, 1 archer, and 1 knight. As for the boyish girl, she gathered 3 knights, 2 mage, and a thief. Daigo managed to gather 5 knights, 4 archers, 2 swordsman, 2 thief and 4 mages.

"Daigo is gathering his army it seems."

I muttered.

"How's life, Awakened Hero?"

Leo greeted me. Ameralda walked behind him as if it was a normal thing to do. There were two girls followed behind two of them as attendants.

"You're not joining them, Leo?"

I asked.

"I'd rather join your group. I have a gist that you will always attract interesting things."

He said.

"Ah, Sister Ameralda, can you help me calming my girl?"

I asked Ameralda. She gasped and looked at the angry Alicia and her victim of her anger Shiina.

"Is that your party members?"

Leo asked.

"Alicia is one but that Takayashiki is not. Since you're joining me, we already have 4. Though mostly, they are mages."

I said.

1 paladin, 1 alchemist, 2 mages

That was the current members of my party.

"What do you think if we invite that girl?"

Leo asked.

"If you can make sure she didn't quarrel with Alicia, I don't mind."

I said.

"That would be difficult- or not."

Leo suddenly changed his opinion. He tapped my shoulder and pointed at Alicia's direction. I turned my head and was surprised. Alicia and Shiina were standing side by side with dejected looks while being scolded by Ameralda.

"Leo"

"What is it?"

"It is just me or both of us will have our wife dominating us."

"What a coincidence, me too"

We both just could stand in daze on that spot.
