I put down the papers in my hand. I reached for the next batch of reports.

"The next intel came from my subordinate who worked in an academy, Frigate. He was supposed to research anything regarding magic spells and rituals. However, his research got deviated after I got sealed by the Hero of Justice, Daigo."

I summarized the report.

"Eh? Sealed?"

Rin got surprised. It was not strange if she didn't know about it. I bet mother and the rest didn't dare to tell anyone else from the village that they were fugitives. I cleared my throat and continued reading the rest of the report.

"As a result of his study, he had learned the mastery over several sealing magic, barrier magic, and some clues regarding summoning magic. But, his progress had been delayed at the end after the headmaster dumped the responsibility babysitting the Hero of Wisdom."

I stopped reading the report. This was the first time I heard about this. I had Karina received the reports from Frigate and write them down for me to read later but to think it was like this. Frigate must be stressed a lot when he got the responsibility to babysit that afro.

"The intel gathering on the sealing magic had been completely stagnated when the Hero of Wisdom, Haruhide Haruta, had presented him a proposal of some magic artifact called 'Rider System'. Huh?"

I was dumbfounded. It seems like that afro-head had something messed up in the head. This world was indeed a world of magic. However, coming up with some projects to realize some fictional characters from the previous world is weird. Or rather, was he going to become a mad scientist like the old man I met at the boundary of the Afterlife?

"After spending some time with the hero, Frigate received some enlightenment from the Hero's theories and ideas. The project had advanced with positive prospects until the new problem popped out. The Hero requested him to be a test subject. Is that Hero a retard or what?"

I couldn't help but retort. The participants looked at me weirdly. I cleared my throat. It seems like my instinct as a scientist was triggered there.

"After refusing the request, Hero of Wisdom decided to take an antagonistic action by revealing Frigate's true identity. Thankfully, before the battle could occur, Frigate had escaped to his hideout with the escape route he had prepared beforehand. This happened not long before the Beastkin Massacre occurred in Maximillian.

After the massacre, I asked him to check on the former servants who used to work for my mother and rescue them if possible. Frigate had found the butler, Titus-san, died in the city. As for the Maid, Natalia-san, he found her still alive while being surrounded by the church's dogs. For some reason, she was escaping with the Hero of Wisdom. After he was done taking care of the dogs, Frigate brought Natalia-san to the gathering place of the rest of the subordinates with the Hero of Wisdom tagging along and persistently following him all the way to Beastkin Country."

I ended reading the report.

"It's a shame that the old man was dead. But, it is quite assuring that Natalia had survived. Remembering her, I kind of worried whether she will be fine by herself. That klutz is quite a pain to take care of after all."

Anastasia said.

"Also, from this report, we can conclude that out of seven heroes, four are on our side."

Mother said.

"That is I can't say for certain yet. Aside from me, Kagura, and Shiina, Haruta is still in the gray area. It was said that he still has some hostility toward Frigate and might change sides depending on the situation."

I refuted Mother's opinion.

"But, in this case, the Beastkin Country should be a nice base for the next operation. We have a lot of allies there."

Anastasia said.

"No, there might be few allies we can depend on there. But, we have yet to know the true state of that country's politic. There are many examples of the prosperous country with rotten government behind it."

I refuted her.

"Then, let's get moving to the next topic. There's still much info from that pile right?"

Nova said. I nodded and picked the next batch.

"This came from the subordinates of mine who are assigned to infiltrate Maximillian and its surroundings as high-class Adventurers. Besides gathering intel on the high society and the official network of the Guild, they also had amassed many rare materials in their magic bag during their missions.

However, until the massacre occurred, both Mark and Flo had no idea that the church was amassing power in the dark. The nobility and high echelon people also had no intel on that matter. Or perhaps, since both of them are beastkin, none of the nobles was willing to share some info on that.

Before the massacre happened, they had undergone a rescue mission on a VIP. The VIP was a quite naive young girl who was used as a mascot and tools for propaganda without her knowing. She was kidnapped by the dogs of the church disguising as bandits. After the kidnapping incident, the girl became attached to Mark and decided to stop working for her current boss before registering as an adventurer to stay with him. It was quite surprising that the girl was actually the Hero of Freedom, Akane.

She tagged along with Mark on several missions before the massacre occurred. When she heard the news of the massacre, she was shocked. She helped Mark and Flo rescuing the survivors but during the escape to the neighboring country, she seemed down and depressed for some reason."

I said finishing reading the report.

"Hmm... Her behavior was easy to read at the beginning but it was uncertain if she would join us later huh?"

Nova muttered.

"But, at least she had some positive feeling toward our group than Maximillian's camp. I wonder if I can get along with her."

Eris said positively. I smiled seeing how positive Nova's wife could be. I glanced at Alicia. It seems like she was in deep thought about something. I picked the last batch of the report. I skimmed through the report and widened my eyes.

"What?!!"

I shouted. Everyone's attention turned to me in instant.

"What's wrong, Ren?"

Mother asked.

"Shiina and Fianna are in pinch. We need to prepare to depart as fast as possible."

I said.

"What happened at their place, Ren?"

Alicia asked worriedly.

"Shiina is currently confronting an army of goblins led by a demon lord. She was doing fine at the beginning but lately, the goblins had resorted to using human wave tactics. Fianna and Flint couldn't do much at this rate."

I said. Everyone tensed up hearing my explanation. And with that, the meeting was closed and we split up for the departure preparation. I was really worried if something would happen to the little sister of mine there. The threat of a Demon Lord wasn't something to make light of.
