Chapter 13 Part 4 - Departure

Alicia and I were taking few pieces of clothing which was suitable for long distance. I took some spare vials into an extra magic bag. I started folding the clothes before arranging them inside the travel bag. Alicia hummed as she also tried to copy me folding her clothes.

She somehow felt very happy for some reason. She sometimes grinned as she chose her clothes carefully. I didn't know the reason but just seeing this spectacle already made me happy. I continued moving my hands to finish the packing as fast as I could.

We headed to the yard once we finished packing. Anastasia helped us carrying the bags with levitation magic. At the yard, a 20 meters tall dragon was waiting while watching the city. She didn't know that she herself was already become the center of attention.

'It seems like you're the first to arrive, Young One.'

Feminine voice echoed inside my head. I looked up at the dragon before me. It seems like in this form she communicated with telepathy.

"......."

I lost of words seeing her actual size. Compared to her, the dragon I had slain before were just small fry.

'You don't have to be afraid, young one. I meant no harm to you.'

She said with telepathy.

'Is she your mate, young one?'

She asked as she looked at Alicia.

"Yes, she is indeed my wife."

I said.

'You should mark her as soon as you arrive at the nest later.'

She suggested.

"Ma-Ma-Ma-Mark her?!!"

I was lost of words at her suggestion.

'Ah, you don't know about the marking yet huh? That's to be expected. You're still too young.'

She said.

"How do I do that?"

I asked her.

'Engrave her body with your crest. Any part is fine. You should hurry up and learn your clan crest or the other males will try to snatch her.'

She warned.

"I will do it with my utmost strength."

I said.

'Good'

She praised me.

Leo arrived not long afterward. He, Ameralda, and his bodyguards arrived with some bags with them. Flint arrived a bit later with seven bags floated around her. Shiina arrived last accompanied by two young dragons behind her.

"Kyua?"

"Kyuu!"

The two younglings suddenly snuggled behind Shiina. Asvi looked at her.

"Eh? Ah, Yes."

It seems like they had a private conversation. Seeing the dragons I remembered my first pet. I imagined my pet running here and whistled.

Dudududududududududududdudu!!

Not long afterward, a white horse ran toward me with quick speed.

"I almost forgot about you, pal."

Neigh!!

It protested at my honest words. Sora snuggled against my chest. I patted its head and brushed its mane.

"So, how are we going to do about transportation?"

Flint asked. Asvi stretched its foreleg forward. It suddenly sunk to the air. When she pulled her hand back, she was already holding a giant wooden basket. She put it on the ground.

'Get on'

She sent the telepathic message. Anastasia walked first and put the luggage inside before jumping into the basket. Lisha and Noden helped the royal family members to get on the basket. Shiina helped the baby dragons to get on the basket as Sora swiftly jumped into the basket and occupied the empty corner. I sighed and joined them last.

"This thing is sturdy right?"

Leo said with worried looks. I observed the wood basket and checked the structure with my alchemy. The wood used was a rare type of wood which unusually hard and the way it was entwining were so complex. The structures were supporting each other.

"No problem I think. It's probably even stronger than your castle's wall."

I said.

"I see..."

The way he replied me somehow disturbing me.

'Hang on tight. I will use my full speed.'

Asvi said telepathically. Somehow I felt bit uneasy about this. Asvi grabbed the handle of the basket and began flapping her wings. Alicia was looking into the distance with Shiina to enjoy the scenery. Asvi flew vertically at slow and steady pace. When she stopped, what I had afraid of happened.

Asvi titled the basket bit backward. After she did that, she accelerated forward. The process itself wasn't a problem but her speed was. Just from flying forward, the luggage and the passengers were pinned to the bottom of the basket from the wind pressure.

"R-Ren-sama?!!"

Alicia called my name. She blushed red in such situation. That was obvious after all, I currently was protecting her on reflex when the basket titled and the wind pressure sent us in the current position. If it was a normal circumstance, I would look like pinning her on the ground.

My arms and knees were supporting my body to create some gaps so that I wouldn't crush Alicia's body. Because of the wind strength, the gap I created was quite narrow and our face was close. Asvi glanced at our direction once but she didn't intend to decrease her speed at all.

We arrived at our destination by dawn. Most of our passengers were already fainted. The only one who still conscious was just me, Asvi and Alicia who didn't get the wind pressure directly.

"Umm... Ren-sama, I think you should move now before they woke up."

Alicia said. I averted my eyes.

"What's wrong?"

"A-Actually, my arms and legs are too numb. I couldn't move them right now."

I said.

'I know she is your wife but you should mind the time, place and occation'

Asvi scold me with her telepathy. She lifted me by my collar and tossed me beside the fainted Sora. I screamed in pain as my dislocated joints were suddenly received a strong impact. At that time, I swear that I wouldn't ever ride Asvi Dragon Express ever again.
