Chapter 6

🔑Lucy's P.O.V🔑

"Hey Lucy! How's it been?!" Sting asked as Yukino was adjusting her seat next to him.

"You must clarify when you ask that question." I said stubbornly.

"How's school been?" He clarified.

"It's been nice. I smart mouthed my Social Studies teacher a few days ago."

"Nice! Now what is this I hear about a boyfriend?!" 

"I only said that so you could come home earlier. They say that mom only has about a day left. She could die right now even."

 "It got that bad?! What are we waiting for then! I Need to see mom!" Sting said as he took his bags from me and started walking off.

"I'm sorry Lucy. He's been on edge ever since the plane rides, and this seems to have made it worse." Yukino tried to apologize.

"Yuki! This is my brother! I've seen him worse on his best days." We laughed and followed him, but little did he know that mom's in worse condition than what I said.

(Time skip, when they're at the hospital)

🔥Natsu's P.O.V🔥

I was in the waiting room waiting for my mom to get off work, when I saw Lucy and two other people behind her.  Lucy and the dude went up, but the second woman sat next to me.

"You know Lucy Heartfilia?" I asked randomly.

"Huh? Oh yes. I'm dating her older brother Sting." She said sweetly.

"What are they doing here?"

"Her mom - wait, what's you're name? And how do you know her?"

"I know her from school. I'm Natsu Dragneel."

"Oh! You're that popular she talks about. Well, I'm told no to tell you, but I want someone to be there for her when this happens."

"What's happening?

"Her mom is... She's on her death bed right now. Sting and I just got back from our vacation about an hour ago. According to Lucy, their mother could die at any moment."

"Why didn't she tell anyone?" I asked. I figured that at least the Nons knew, but she never told them.

"She never told anyone?! She said that she had friends that she told!"

"No. She hides this from everyone."

"Well, when her mother dies, could you help Lucy get through it. Still g and I are leaving in a week, so we won't be around to help."

"I promise."

As they were talking downstairs, the Heartfilia's were suffering a great loss.
