I step out the shower, and walk back into my room. Laying on my bed was The beautiful Ruby dress, my mom had bought me for my birthday last year. It was a gift, I never wore it.

i slipped on the dress and stepped into my black heels with the red bottoms. Today was Thursday, my birthday. I had a rough day at work but I just wanted to get the dinner over with. Come home and sleep.

Its been exactly 5 days since my little rend vu with Nard. I haven't called him or spoken to him, I can't bring my self too. That wasn't supposed to happen. He's called everyday since that though.

I stepped down the stairs into the living room.

“ Hey Jas you look beautiful"

“ Thanks come on let's go "

I grabbed Elijah's hand as we walked to his car.

“ I still don't get why you had to pick me up "

“ All Chase told me was to pick you up and get you to the restaurant safe and sound "

I smiled as we drove on to the highway.

The car was silent, but a comfortable silence.

“ Hey Jas "

“ Yeah? " I turned to him but his eyes were intently on the road.

“ Have you considered my offer? "

Elijah wanted me to go out of town with him. I hadn't really given it any thought. I had to much on my mind Nard but he didn't need to know that.

“ Elijah "

“ Just hear me out, one week California, you and me. We don't have to share a hotel room. I'm out there for a business meeting. I just want it to be a vacation for you, a birthday gift. "

I could use a vacation, I just didn't know spending time with him for a week, alone, would be a good thing. I'll be fine. I can just hook up with a Cali boy.

“ Yeah I'll go Elijah "

We pulled up to the restaurant, Elijah had snaked his arm around my waist. We walked up to Jessie and Chase.

“ Finally I thought Eli had kidnapped for you " Chase chuckled

“ Shut up chase " Elijah glared

“ Okay come on let's go in "

Chase and Jessie walked in first. Then Elijah and I walked in.

“ Why is it dark-"

“ Surprise !! "

All my friends and family jumped up. Everybody was here, Uncle Roy, Aunt shiranne, Kasey, Jayson, Their daughter Emily, Nard , Janice, Ashely- Nard?

I stared at him intently, while he glared at my waist. I looked down and Elijah hand was still there. I jumped away from Elijah and didn't dare look at nard again.

“ Guys! Really? " I smiled

“ God mommy " Emily ran over to me and I hugged her so tight. I had seen her in forever.

I walked over to everybody and hugged them. I couldn't say I was happier.

“ Jasmine can I talk to you for a second " a voice whispered in my ear.

I faced the voice, it was Nard.

He led me over to a corner in the room

“ Why haven't you answered my calls or text? " he whisper yelled

“ Nard I told you I couldn't take you back "

“ Jasmine I still love you "

“ Look I didn't tell you to "

“ But I am, and I know you still love me "

“ Good bye " I tried to walk away but he gripped my wrist hard.

“ Let go " i whispered even though my voice was raising.

“ I didn't use a condom "

I yanked my arm away “ What the hell do you mean? "

“ I mean you might be pregnant "

I slapped Nard for everything, Cheating on me with Jazzy, Getting me pregnant both times, ripping that necklace off my neck, and everything he said.

The room went eerily silent.I turned around to face the crowd. I walked over to Jess and pulled her to the kitchen.

“ What's wrong? " she immediately fired

“ I might be pregnant "

“ By who ? "

“ Nard, dumb ass didn't use I condom, take me to the store to get a test "

“ I don't even want to know, but let's go. "

We walked back to the dining area, the party had started again. Jess walked over to Chase and whispered in his ear before he handed her the keys.

We drove to the store. I wanted a kid, but not this way, and not by him again. I hopped out and ran toward the pregnancy isle. Grabbing 3 test. it was too late to use the morning after pill, it been almost a fucking week.

I paid for the test and got back in the car. I was going to kill Nard. When we came back people were leaving. My hand was engulfed by someone else's.

I looked into Elijah eyes, “you ready?"

I nodded he put my gifts in his drunk and I held the cake. I left that bag with Jess I'll just take the test when I get back. We said our good byes and headed to the airport.
