Everyone seemed excited as if we all were gonna get adopted by one single person. Not how it works kids. It's time but no one has gone yet and they haven't said a word, not a single word, not even his name. "Do you think he's going to be nice?" Alexa said anxiously. She was clearly just as excited as the other kids keeping her hopes up. "Do we even know it's going to be a He?" I asked since we'll we barely know anything about the dude. "Yeah I heard the staff say it was a He and I think she said his name was something like Mark." She was tapping her foot. She was really excited, like always. "Alexa, you're gonna explode, calm down girl."
"Sorry it's just really exciting to know that we might get adopted, there's always that 2% chance right?" I nodded my head and looked at the staff member who just came in. "Ok kids ranging from 10-15 please sit over here." She announced as she pointed to what I called "the hope bench" when I was a kid. Back then I always thought the next one is gonna be me, it's gonna be me who gets adopted, but now I don't get my hopes up much, seven years is a long time to be in one place, they even have their own school here meaning I was in this place 24/7 day and night. "It's our age group (y/n/n)!!" Alexa said even more excited. "Alexa, breathe in and out slowly, In and out, of you don't you're gonna explode." She giggled a bit then starts dragging me over to the bench. "Alexa?" The staff member asked, as always she always went first. "Ooh! Wish me luck (y/n)!" She said starting to get up. "Alright good luck, but not too much I don't want you leaving me now." I said smiling a little as she smiled back and ran into the meet and greet area. "Im gonna die without her." I whisper to myself thinking about how many times she's saved my life. [not gay so shut up you in the comments] I don't want her to leave but at the same time I hope she does get out of here! I don't want my best friend to suffer even more here.[time-a-skip cuz ima boss]
It had been like five minutes and she finally came out with a huge grin on her face, and I mean HUGE. She had done it didn't she, she got adopted. You can tell when the person wants you, yet never have I ever seen what that feels like. But I could tell on her face that she had landed a home. Dammit, but then again that's great for her, I guess I'm stuck here. "You did it didn't you?" I asked already knowing. "Me? No! Pfft. Actually I did the opposite for YOU. You'll say thank you later." What the fuck. Just, what the flippity flappity mother of all ducks did she just say? She neglected to be adoption worthy for me? "What do you mean? why would you do that? you shouldnt have, you need a home Alexa!" I said freaking out about what she just said to me. We all need homes here! You can't just go around giving up opportunities in a situation like this. "Well it's not about the home it's about the person and you deserve this." Alexa said still smiling. "Well if this person is so great wouldn't you want to go home with him?" I say still dumbfounded. "You'll see." She said with a smirk of pure joy. Who was this dude that she refused to try and get a home with him and left him up to me? I knew no one outside this place unless what she meant was that he matches my personality so frickin well she just HAD to leave him to me. Even still you have to get a home where you can. The staff lady kept calling the other kids for about an hour until finally "(y/n)!" She yelled. Time to see who the sucker is.
Mark POV
I had been meeting kids for about an hour and I didn't really have interest in any of them. That first one acting slightly weird though, Alexa was her name. She came in wide eyed as if she knew me but then was really shy and barely spoke the rest of the time, and then when I was done talking with her she walked out with a huge smile and a skip in her step. Wonder what that was all about. The other kids just weren't my type and none of them knew me so my sense of humor was way different from theirs, that would be a problem since I make jokes all the time! How am I supposed to adopt a kid who hates my jokes? "Mr. Fischbach our last child will be coming in shortly." The attendant told me as the last kid exited. "Okay." I said grinning. Hopefully this was the one. I smiled as I watched the door start to open.Y/n POV
