Once I am fully dressed, I examine my tattoo on my wrist, 'believe in yourself'. I sigh before brushing my red hair. I meet Jacob by his rabbit as he helps Billy inside.
"Ready to meet my friends in Forks?" Billy asks.
"Yeah, I actually am." I reply as I get in then car, behind Jacobs driver's side.
—
Forks is a beautiful town, full of nature. The green trees and light rain. The dull skies are actually pretty in my eyes. My eyes are glued to the scenery until we reach a small house. It looks to be two stories. It is for for two people; Charlie and his daughter.
"Charlie. You old fart." Billy greets as Jacob gets him in his wheelchair. "This is Jacobs new friend, Tori Fleming."
Charlie looks at me; he knows about the abuse because of the pained eyes. "Hi Tori, I'm Charlie Swan. I'm the chief of olive here in Forks."
He's a cop? That explains the instinct if abuse.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Charlie." I shake the officers hand.
"Bella!" Charlie calls. "It's my pleasure, Tori." He eyes be for a minute before a girl with pale skin and brown hair steps out. I like her.
"Hi, I'm Tori." I shake the girls hand. "I'm Jacobs neighbor."
"Isabella." The girl replies. "Please, just call me Bella."
"I wanna be your friend." I gush.
"Okay." Bella blushes.
"Okay, Girls." Billy says with a smile. "Tori, let Jacob and Bella catch up. Come inside."
I follow Billy and Charlie inside, and I have a seat on the sofa.
"Charlie, you have a beautiful home." I smile at the man.
"Since you're friends with Bella now, you'll be over a lot right?" Charlie asks.
"If I can get away from my dad, step mom, and step brother." I reply. "My father is.... Strict."
Charlie and Billy both notice my hesitation before the word strict, but let it go. Bella walks inside, with red cheeks.
"Hi Tori, wanna go to my room for a little bit?" Bella asks.
"Sure, Bella." I reply.
I follow Bella up the narrow flight of stairs.
Billy's POV (didn't expect that, did you?)
Something is off about Tori; more like something with Charleen Altera, now Fleming, and that Jaxon man she married. Tori is hesitant around adult men, and she way she tensed when Charlie said he was chief of police.
I know Charlie noticed the hesitation before she said Jaxon and Charleen were strict, I heard it all to clearly. I won't push it, but I know somethings wrong.
Tori's POV
I walk home when we make it back to the Black place. Jaxon narrows his eyes at me, but walks out of the house with Charleen.
"They'll Be gone tonight." Quil tells me. "You're safe with me."
"Thank you, brother." I sigh. "I'm gonna take a shower, then might go to Sam Uley's."

I park my car beside Sam and Emily's jeep before I walk inside. Jared smiles up at me and I just drop beside him."How was the funeral?" I ask.
"Depressing." Jared replies honestly. "How was Forks?"
"Fun." I reply with a grin. "I made a friend."
Paul walks in alone, and sits on the other side of me. He snatches the remote from Jared's hands and he flips through the channels.
"Did you cry, Paul?" I ask teasingly.
If looks could kill, I'd be dead with the glare Paul just gave me.
"Hell no, I didn't cry." Paul mumbles. "Shannon didn't even show to her own daughter's funeral, frikken bitch."
"Easy, Paul, Easy." I giggle.
Jared takes my wrist and we walk outside away from everyone. He sits us on the porch swing and I turn to face him. He faces me, and our eyes eventually meet.
Jared's pov
The first thing I see when I look into my beautiful imprints eyes is twin babies in our future. Our wedding.
I smile before I sit back. Tori actually snuggles up against me when se realizes how abnormally warm out.
"Cold?" I ask, a soft chuckle escaping me.
"Froze; I regret wearing a tank top." She shivers.
Tori's pov
I am creeped out about how warm Jared is, but with this chilly night I am thankful for his abnormal heat. I have my head on his chest as he strokes my hair, the sun setting.
"I better get home, my dad and step mom return from their date night tomorrow." I kiss Jared in the cheek. "I'll see you soon, Jared Cameron."
"See you soon, Tori Fleming." Jared replies back to me.
I get into my car, and I start te heater as soon as the engine turns over. I drive towards Billy and Jacob's, and I park there. Jacob waves at me before I cross the street to my house.
I go to my room, skipping eating what Quil made for his cousin Claire. Claire is staying the night, she is 4. Her mom, Janet, will be picking her up before Charleen and Jaxon even head back here.
I lock my room door behind me, and I change I to some pajamas. I look at my wrist tattoo, and a tear forms. How can I believe in myself when I am constantly abused? When I am to blame for my mother's death? How am I supposed to relieve in myself?!
I hide my face in my pillow, and I begin sobbing. I close my eyes as the tears finally stop falling. I wipe the tears away; for the rest of the night, Quil can hear my dry sobs.
