I follow the guard through the fairly empty corridors as the servants must be using the secret passages throughout the palace so as to not be in the way of any ranking peoples. I look at Lethe who walks slightly behind me wishing I could know what was on his mind behind the mental block he keeps up all the time. As we near the throne room, I begin to practically run as I catch the scent of my mate, or so I thought. When we enter the throne room, there is only the Queen of Rogues and she smells the direct opposite of what my mate smells like.

"Princess Amelia, what a pleasure to see you up and about at last." she says smiling warmly. I glare at her.

"Are you the one who sent those packs to attack the Royal Palace?" I demand standing straighter trying to hold my glare despite an odd feeling in my heart.

"Of course not. The Royal Rogue Pack and the Royal Pack have been at peace ever since the beginning of my father's pack. He had favor with your father. I would do nothing to endanger the peace that we hold." The Queen says in a silken voice.

"If you didn't send them, why did they attack my home and my father? Why did someone-" I start to say before clamping my mouth shut knowing that no one is supposed to know what my beloved had said to me.

"Why did someone what, Princess?" she asks as her gaze drops to my full and slightly exposed bust. I cocked an eyebrow at her. She looks over to Lethe with a slight growl as he moves protectively closer.

"Nothing. I must return to the Royal Palace. A Princess shouldn't show such cowardice as I have shown." I tell her before she stands abruptly.

Grace's Point Of View:

I watch my little mate speaking with her beautiful voice full of passion as she voices her reason for approaching my palace. 'Can't we please tell her that she's our mate? I want to hold her.' my wolf, Cristyl, says whimpering.

I sigh internally as I skim my eyes over her gorgeous body. Her guard moves closer causing my wolf to instantly get possessive and want to rip his head from his shoulders. I remind her that our mate may not like that since she seems to be slightly close with her guard. Perhaps we could befriend our little mate. Then we can slowly warm up to it. The more I consider it, the more it sounded like a good idea. Surely she couldn't be angry at me for wanting to befriend her and get her opinion before just trying anything on her. With the bond blocked, thanks to my quarter of witch blood, we were free to fall in love on our own without the pressure to fuck each other's brains out. Not to mention, neither of us would have the intense heat that she-wolves get when they meet their mate as I had before. I stand to see her to a car when more guards rush into the room.

"What is the meaning of this?" I demand irritated at their entrance.

"The King has fallen. The Royal Kingdom lays in ruins. The Royal Pack needs their Princess as soon as possible. Also, the Council will meet you both at her palace." The master of the guard says bowing respectfully. Amelia crumbles in a fainting spell. Cristyl whines wanting to hold her and rip everyone else apart who touches our beloved.

"Pack my things immediately. We leave in five minutes. It will be at least a half a days drive from here to the Royal Pack and we will need as much time as we can get." I tell Tammie. She nods and hurries to pack a suitcase for my normal everyday clothing items.
