I pull slowly into the driveway and cut the engine trying to wrack my brain for some way to tell Zeke about the baby. Surely he'd be excited about his first grandchild right? I start getting the bags of things I'd bought yesterday to make it seem I'd been shopping when I'd actually went for a walk along one of the hidden beaches. When I walk in, Zeke is waiting for me. "I was worried you'd gotten lost." He says looking up from the game on the television. I smile sheepishly.
"Yeah. But I got directions from someone else and made it home before 10 at least." I say with a small smile. He stands turning the t.v. off and looked at me.
"Care to tell me what actually took you so long?" He asks jesturing to my soaked appearance.
"Dad . . . I'm pregnant." I blurt.
