Amelia's Point Of View:
I sigh and look at all the people; Royals, Alphas, and Betas are all in attendance. Of course, I'm the highest ranking person attending, at least, I am for now. Lethe shifts slightly as his hand remains steady on the hilt of his sword. Grace sits to my right and an empty seat remains at my left. The Royals all sit at a long table before a conference table for the lower ranks and another for the Council, all of whom are already here. "Where are the other Royals at? They were supposed to be the ones hosting this little pow wow." Grace mutters irritable. I sigh."I don't know." I say and just as the words leave my mouth, in walks a beautiful woman. She's about five foot three with black hair and steel grey eyes. Every way about how she carries herself confirms that she is the missing Queen from our attendance.
"My apologies Council Members and our most esteemed guests. There is a new member joining the North American Royal Pack and, as protocol for my kingdom, I was there to help her. My mate is her father, thus making her my sole heir." The Queen says walking regally to her seat in a beautiful blood red gown made from silk and crushed velvet. Her golden crown of rubies glistens in the dim light.
"That is quite alright, Queen Charlotte." Head Councilman, Thomas Burkenshire, says looking at a folder that matches the other Council Members'.
"You say that you have reason to believe that Amelia Lauran Michels, daughter of King William John Michels IV and Queen Abitha Amoire Leanette Michels, may gods rest their souls, should not solely inherit the Head Royal throne. Where is the evidence?" Councilwoman, Elisa Miren, states gazing into the open folder. I glare confused at this woman who is trying to undermine my birthright.
"What is the meaning of this outrage?" Grace demands standing abruptly.
"Sit down, madam." The head of council says firmly. She glares at him as i tug her back into her seat.
"Yes, I do." Queen Charlotte says looking back at the door. The guards open it and in walks a girl who looks almost exactly like me. Her eyes are the same green color as my mother's. The set of her chin and the way she walks reminds me so much of my mother. So much so that it's almost like watching a younger version of my mom.
"Who the hell are you and where did you fucking come from?" I demand furious and not caring to mind my words. The girl who has to be my age stops in front of me.
"I am Korinna." The girl says simply. I scoff at her simplicity.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the Council, Kings, Queens, Alphas, and Betas . . . Allow me to introduce you to Korinna Amoire Leanette Aurora Pierce, daughter of my mate, Ezekiel Pierce, and the late Queen Abitha Michels. She was but a day old when the Queen heard that she'd died in the infant care unit. In her grief, the Queen went to look at her other, older, twin daughter. At the same time, the King of Werewolves arrived and found her to be his mate. He swept her off of her feet to never hear that her other child had survived after all. My mate, heartbroken at her abandonment of him and their other child, took up with a human woman and soon married her to have a mother figure for Korinna. They soon had a falling out and in the divorce Angela got custody because the human courts didn't think a man could raise a daughter properly. Then, on her eighth birthday, Korinna shifted for the first time. At the same time, a guest was visiting her father and I shortly after we'd discovered each other as mates. They discovered themselves to be true mates. The guest, three years older than Korinna at the age of eleven, saw her and knew that they were mates. However-" Queen Charlotte begins before the Head Councilman interrupts.
"Can you hurry this up? We have trials and a vote to get to." He snaps irritable.
"The guest rejected her and at the age of eight, Korinna begged all her memories of what she is to be secured by her father. At the age of eight, she left her pack to live with her adoptive human mother." She finishes as though she'd not been interrupted.
Everyone is shocked into bewilderment, even me.
