Author’s POV

‘’Let’s do this.’’

As soon as Eryn said so, the whole class started to look for anything they can use before all of them headed out while Angelo was keeping shift of the door this time, when Darylle instructed. Angelo witnessed most of them moved to the other side of the floor for only a few can be found in his sight, but  can still spot some others still walking out there.

Everyone else was looking through drawers, cabinets, and through their bags to see if they could find anything useful before they went outside and they tried to go as fast as possible before anything breaks through their only shield.

‘’How is it back there?’’ Isabella leaned her head over to the direction where Angelo was keeping watch. Angelo put a thumbs up to the group but still was glancing at the window. ‘’The number was greatly reduced, which makes the job easier.’’ Isabelle relieved as she touched her where her heart was like she was stopping it from getting out of her chest. ‘’Thank God.’’ She muttered. Quite a while, Darylle finally spoke up. ‘’Alright, everybody gather around.’’ When she gave the word, they all walked to their direction.

Everyone circled around each other once again with each of them holding something on their hands. ‘’Alright, what did you find?’’ Carl said when he glanced down to each other’s reach, and observed that they held sharp objects.

‘’It’s not much, but can a cutter stab through a head?’’ Billy said as he held out a large and deadly-like cutter. The blade of the material was as sharp as a knife. People have been staying away from that thing since he started bringing it to school, that they hardly believed that the teacher allowed it.

‘’Out of curiosity, why don’t you just bring regular cutters besides bringing that?’’ Isabelle glanced down the scissors, a little feared. ‘’Just be thankful I brought it today.’’

Carl observed the cutter closely. He took it away from Billy’s hands and caressed the sides of the shiny blade, trying to investigate it. He poked his index finger to the very top of the blade, and as he pushed it harder to see if it was enough to cause damage. But instead, it caused his finger to drip his red blood down to his fingers and crawl down to the palm of his hand.

‘’Shit…’’He thought to himself trying to hide his pain, but his expression was enough to make them think otherwise.

Out of all of a sudden, he stabbed the cutter to the wooden teacher’s table, which led to startle his classmates. But everyone turned to the cutter and it managed to stick good through the table.

‘’Yeah. This can work.’’ Carl smirked and later on got the so-called weapon out of the table and placed it to his back pocket. Eryn rolled her eyes. ‘’You do know you didn’t have to make yourself bleed like that. Does it hurt?’’ When she mentioned his hand, he turned his eyes to it, and sighed.

‘’I didn’t. That’s how sharp it is, believe it or not. And no, not really. I’ve experienced worse, believe me.’’ He said, still glancing down to his hand. Isabella quickly put out a plastic of tissues out of her skirt and gave it to Carl. ‘’Here, you need it, big bro.’’

‘’Thanks.’’ He thankfully said as he wiped the blood off before any more could spill and wrapped it around as the stains kept spreading through the tissues until it was dyed red.

‘’Damn…’’ Clarence whispered seeing the sight of his finger for his expression and pain doesn’t quite match.

‘’Alright, what else?’’ Isabelle spoke up with her arms crossed.
