It's been days since we've been on the road, and well, it's definetly not easy. We have enough food for a couple more weeks, but we have found no shelter, no warehouse, nothing. We have been walking and resting for the past couple of days, and I don't like it.

The zombies had been slowly decreasing, since I believe they all went to the house we left, since I saw just a little less than a thousand, they were all hungry and looking for flesh, we could have died.

The safehouse that we had planned was nowhere in sight, and without any maps, that everyone forgot to pack, we were stuck in the middle of nowhere, and we couldn't do anything about it.

But, we found something eventually. A huge warehouse, with a broken fence around it. It was something we looked forward to for a long while.

I grab the nearest object, which happened to be a pile of small rocks, and I threw it at the building. I waited until I threw the next, and just as I thought, zombies came out of it.

I grab my knife, since there were only about 10, and my family follows suit. Rose and Troy are upfront with me, and I start taking all the built up anger out on the zombies. I hated this world, and although I knew that these things were actually people at one point, they weren't anymore

We slowly look inside, and all of us have our guns out if need be to protect, but we don't see anything through the windows. It looks peaceful and plain, but in this world, it could be much more than just a "warehouse", even if I threw rocks, and took the zombies out.

The adults tell Troy, Rose, and I to stay outside while they set up, so we can protect the outside, I ask my mom, "Mom, we need at least 3 others, please send them." She quickly asks the young adults to come outside. We're ready for anything.

Nothing stirs around, and I decide it looks like a good day to go for a run to the nearest town, so I take Rose and Troy with me. I run into tell my mom that we were going out, and I grab a duffel bag with some supplies, and an empty one for our findings.

We walk along the road, until Rose says something hushed in the air, "Listen, I know that this place is supposed to be safe, but the town might not be, we need to have each others backs, literally."

I respond, "I agree with you," and Troy says the same. We are all back to back with weapons out, walking, and stumbling, but still going on track.

We arrive at the storefront, and we immediately grab a cart, but realize that we aren't grocery shopping, we are just getting what we need. Old habits really don't die down.

We go inside, and everything is on the floor, half eaten cans of food, with remains of what looks like people, but I'm not sure. As if everything was turned upside down.

I quickly take them down each and every aisle, killing all the zombies in our way, so we could be safe looking around, and we were looking around for anything useful, now split up, but safe.

I found a lot of cans, and it was actually very good, because they were all closed and tightly sealed, not to mention good food, because it looked like it.

I decided to go to the freezer aisle, since no one would look there, in case we ever got a fire going, we had food to cook as well.

Just as I thought, everything was there, from pizzas to chicken, to everything, so I opened the freezer and took everything out, and decided to call Rose and Troy over to help me.

But they were too busy looking for peanuts, and other snacks, so I did it myself, and left it untouched next time we came.

We decided to head back, and so we did, with all of the food we got, it was almost double of what we had before. I was pretty happy with the haul.

It's very silent, and very peaceful when we got back. Ever since this went down, nothing was the same. And, well, Troy did something.

"Clare, come here," Troy asks. I respond, "Why? Where are we going?" He just quickly takes my hand, not even caring if I say no.

"Clare, I've been waiting for this moment for a long while, and I know that you might not be ready, but I want to try it," He slowly leans in, ever so slightly, and I have never been so nervous in my life. What if a zombie comes out, and eats us? Because of the moment? What if I get nervous and back out? Will he like me still?

He's still leaning in, giving me space to say no, but I don't. I lean in closer, and our noses are touching. I can feel his slow steady breathing, and just as our lips were coming closer, someone has to yell out, "Why do I see someone trying to kiss Clare!?"

I quickly jump back and Troy looks embarassed, but I say, "It's fine...maybe later?" He says, "Yea, sure..." I know it's not going to be the same. I didn't reject him, but why do I feel like I did?

I slowly get up and he does too, but he takes my hand. We are now back to back, and shooting zombies outside of the perimeter. There aren't many, and I know I need to get some wood, and start chopping to make my posts again, except, I also need to repair the fence. There are less zombies, but the unthinkable happens, I turn around, and I am no longer back to back with Troy. Instead, it's a zombie, looking for my brains.
