Whatever happened after I touched my neck, I will never know. I lost consciousness, and I am currently in my own thoughts. I hear screams, and shouting, but my eyes can't bare to wake up. They simply don't want to see the light of day, until I heard his voice.

"Clare, please come back. I can't stay without you, please sweety come back. Please." I heard him sobbing next to me, and I wanted to just wake up, and comfort him. But I couldn't, because if I did, I couldn't deliver the message I was about to receive. Wait what?

A white shadow makes it's way infront of me, and I soon realize it is my mother's outline. I find myself walking closer, and her features are now clear. She's just as I last remembered her.

"My, my, you have grown so much. I can't believe I've been gone this long, and this much has happened to you. I wish I could be with you through this Clare, I really do. But I know that you are better off by yourself, with Rose and Troy of course. I need you to deliver this message to Zack, which I am hoping is still in his lab,"

She continues reading the message from a thin paper, "I understand you and your motives now. I know that you did this for a reason, and all I can tell you is she is safe. Your wife is safe Zack, your one and only love is okay. She wanted to tell you, that you need to stop doing this. You need to help Clare and your scientists develop a cure. Please Zack, listen to her."

With that, my mother was gone. I wish I could have said goodbye, and hug her at least. But I guess I have to wait for my dreams to kick in. I start feeling my body wake up, and my eyelids are opening to a bright white light. And the boy that stole my heart, next to me.

"Clare, you have no idea how much I missed you. You've been out for weeks, and I didn't know if you were going to wake up, and I was going to have to be alone, and I would never-" I cut off his rambling with a kiss to the cheek.

"I understand you missed me, but instead of rambling, why aren't you hugging me?" and with that we hug. It seems to last a few seconds, but in reality, it's been a while since we've been in this position. We pull apart, and he hands me clothes that they got.

Rose is not that much later, and this time, I was afraid of dying. She pulled me into this bone crushing hug, and I really thought I had lost all oxygen I had in my body. "I missed you Clare, you don't know how annoying Troy was."

I chuckle and respond to her, "I bet he was, what happened while I was gone? Is anything different?"

She dives right into the story. "Well, a few hours after you went unconscious, we found Sarah hiding in her office. Except she wasn't Sarah anymore, she was a zombie. We quickly locked her in, to run tests after the antidote would be finished. Zack on the other hand, had been crying and screaming to be let out. And geez, he screams like a girl. He brought it upon himself. Anyways, the scientists in the lab got a test antidote, and they tested it on Sarah. And it worked, for only a short time. So they are working on a better one as we speak. And Troy and I have been testing the new one, which seems to last longer. That's it"

"Wow" is all I could say. I was ecstatic that we were close to a cure, but to what cost?

Shortly after I had been disconnected to the IV and medication, I had found my room. I gathered my few belongings, and set out for a search. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I knew something I did have to do. Think.

Troy and Rose told me I needed back up, and that it wasn't safe, I just waved it off and told them I was fine. I head out, with my bag in hand.

I head out to the nearest clearing, which is only a few meters away from the lab. I hear rustling of the leaves, and soon realize that the leaves are changing colors. I have hope for hummanity, as the tree rustles.

I go closer, and I sit at the trunk of it. I was never much of a tree climber, I much preferred the bottom.

I soon find myself laying and thinking of Troy. His perfect features, those blue eyes that I caught sight of. As I refer to it, "the boy that stole my heart"

I sigh, so much has gone wrong since the start of this whole thing. I lost my family, the people that meant the most to me in my life. My mother, my sweet mother.

I find myself drying my cheeks, and I can already tell my eyes are red and puffy. My sobbing attracts attention, but right now I don't care. I grab my sword that I found.

I charge at the nearing dead, and I take all of my anger, my sadness, and everything else mustered up in me. They are the reason that my mother isn't with me anymore, they are the reason everything went wrong.

After there aren't anymore to kill, I head back to the tree root. I sit back, and decide to be positive about this, despite my recent burst of emotions. I think of all the good things that came out of this.

I became a better fighter, I started dating my crush, I have my best friend by my side, I'm saving humanity, and I'm in lo- wait, I'm in love?

Authors note: Hey guys! I'm so sorry that I haven't uploaded in a while, I haven't really been in the mood for writing. This book might be coming to an end soon xP I'm thinking 6-7 more chapters, and that'll be it. Unless I come out with a better idea for a sequel, this will probably be the only book. I will also be starting a new book as soon as this one is edited and completely published. Thank you so much for supporting me through this, and I'm so shocked I got 617 reads. It's amazing! I'll be updating more regularly now, since I'm over my writers block. Thank you so much again! - Tiffany, xoxo
