Chapter Thirteen: Twins and Triplets

Avi’s POV

“Louis!!!”  I cry, running out of the house and jumping into his arms before he’s half-way up the drive.  He catches me, chuckling.  I notice Liam stiffened a bit.  He relaxes as Arella comes chasing after me.  She gives Liam a quick hug and a peck on the cheek, then pulls me away from Louis and shoves me towards the house.

“Inside!  Your mother would have a fit if she saw you running around barefoot!”  She shouts.  I giggle.

“You’re just afraid the food will burn if I don’t watch it constantly.”  I take Louis’s hand and go drag him into the house before she can respond.  Louis chuckles and stops me in the doorway to kiss me.  I kiss him back, smiling against his lips.  We stayed at their house last night so we’d be here when they got home.  The other girls are all here as well, and file past us to greet their own boyfriends.

“I missed you.”  Louis says, brushing my bangs to the side.

“I missed you too.”  I hug him again, burying my face in his chest.  For second we just stand there like that, holding each other.  “Come on, we’re having a barbeque.  I was Ame’s idea.”  I pull him out back.  He drops his bags in the living room. 

“A barbeque.  Does that mean there are other people here?”  Liam asks as he and Arella catch up to us.

“Only Gemma and three random guys who showed up out of nowhere.”  Arella tells him.  Louis looks at me, concerned.  I just go out back and tackle the black haired boy standing at the grill.

“Cole!  You’re burning them!”  I complain loudly.

“You’re the one who left me alone to cook meat!”  Cole complains right back.  Louis starts laughing.  Me and Cole turn to look at him.

“Wow, you two are twins, aren’t you?”  Zayn asks.

“Oh, wow.  Ame said the same thing.”  Brian says from where he’s sitting at the outdoor table.

“Exactly the same thing.”  Ryan agrees next to him.

“So the three random guys who showed up out of nowhere are your brothers.”  Liam murmurs.

“Duhhhh.”  Arella rolls her eyes.  She smiles at him, though, and puts her head on his shoulder.  Brian and Ryan introduce themselves.  I can’t help but feel sorry for poor Liam as the 6’2” men who are three years older than him look him over appraisingly.

“Be nice.”  I warn Cole, elbowing him in the ribs gently as I try to save the hot dogs he’s killing.

“Me?  Be nice?  When am I not?”  He asks dramatically.

“Oh God, you are just like Louis.”  Arella groans.

“Noooo.  Louis is just like Cole.  You’ve known Cole longer so he’s the base for comparison.”  I correct her.

“You noticed it instantly, didn’t you?”  Arella asks, staring at me with mocking horror.

“Well duh.  Cole is my twin.  You don’t think I would notice that someone is just like him?”

“Do you think it’s a good thing we’re alike?”  I hear Louis ask Cole.

“Honestly, I can never tell with those girls.”  Cole replies.

“It’s definitely…”  I start.

“Terrible!”  Arella cuts me off.

“It is not!”  Me and Cole whine.

“I t is too!”  Arella and the twins whine back.

“Is it too late to go back on tour?”  Zayn asks.

“Let’s go.”  Carolyn, Ame, and Niall agree.

“Wait, so Arella, Avi, and Cole all have the same birthday?”  Harry says, grabbing all our attention.

“That’s right.”  Louis agrees.

“So pretty much there’s a set of twins and a set of triplets here?”

“Yup.”  Me, Arella, Cole, Brian, and Ryan all say together.

“Their roles seem to be pretty much interchangeable too.  It’s completely confusing trying to figure out who’ll take who’s side and who’ll fight with who and what they’ll fight about.  It’s so impossible.”  Ame complains to Zayn.

“Long story short; run.”  I say simply.  We all start laughing.
